Been resisting the hit deals for so long. Finally fell off the wagon. The vision of cramming myself in the trunk to get at the top shock nuts of my E30 was reason enough.

Great deal, but I don't think I want to jump into another battery family just yet... Why can't Bosch come out with this stuff? :dunno:

did yours come with the 2.0 or the older battery? Going by the part numbers on milwaukee's site it looks like they are still shipping with the older. We'll see if I get a pleasant surprise.

I want a tool like this, I'm afraid they're gonna drop a brushless Fuel version soon.

Why? I'm trying to decide between the two. Kind of thinking it won't do anything an air ratchet won't though.

For my usage, I use a 3/8" mostly. While I thought I would get use of both, I think it's better to have one or the other instead of both.

How does the 1/4" compare size and torque wise?

I've thought about getting one to work in tight places on 4x4s, but they don't look like they're good for much torque and they look bigger than an air ratchet.

I use this tool more than anything else when working on cars.

1/4th inch is exactly the same except the size at the business end.

It isn't for breaking tough bolts. It's more designed for the smaller bolts. It's entirely portable and is so handy to have at the junk yard too. I can extract a alternator in around 3 minutes on a subaru with it :)

I've had the 1/4" one for over a year. For taking off 8-12mm bolts it's great. With an adapter from 1/4 to 3/8 I run home bigger bolts just to reduce time. It's small enough to get into most places I want it to. No complaints from me I love this tool. I've dropped it several times from fender height and recently it fell off the top of the engine through the front of the car and into a catch pan full of used coolant I had drained out of the car. The tool was fully submerged for 10-15 seconds. I pulled it out sprayed it with brake cleaner (soaked it) and blew it dry with an air gun. It worked intermittently so I called Milwaukee and they said take it apart and dry the circuit board. I never did honestly. It worked fine once it was dry overnight (although it smelled like burnt coolant for a couple days) and I continue to use it. I literally work this tool to death and it keeps going. The only other cordless tool I have that gets worked harder is my Snap on 14V 3/8 impact that I have an 18V battery on and it finally stopped last week and was sent back to the mothership for a rebuild.

I just bought (haven't used) the 2452 M12 Fuel 3/8" Impact GUN.

I am not a pro mechanic and cant justify buying the cordless impact wrench
at this time (FYI bought the 2452 kit from ZORO's 30% off Black Friday)

Does anybody think I'll be OK running bolts at the low speed (mode1) with this
gun rather than have the above M-12 ratchet...as long as it physically will fit
the required location ?????

The 2452 is an entirely different tool. The whole joy of the ratchet is you can manually break the bolts and then use the power to do the boring work of getting it off finally. I almost always am able to get where I need to with it. In truth its super useful for the boring bolts - the plastic cover of this and that. The interior bits, the front fender bolts...etc.

If you have one of these ratchets ...you know just how awesome it is.

+1, guys complain these ratchets are weak, just got to use them properly.

Crack loose and zip off

120 is a good price, that's how much I paid for the kit

Thanks for that ebay link. CPO wouldn't price match and they had already shipped by the time I called them. That's pretty impressive by itself.

They had no problem canceling it but it's impressive nonetheless.

Anybody have an idea what I should sell my 1/4 bare tool at? It's new, never used.

Only about 30 bones to me just because I would have top source the other things too. I think if some one already has M12 line tools maybe 50, but everyone is a cheap *** around here.

I'm not hurting for $30 and doubt I would sell it at $50. If the tools themselves are selling around $99 new, I would think $70-80

$70-80 is more than reasonable for an unused ratchet. I wouldn't sell it for any less.

So having not had an electric ratchet, just air. Can you use the ratchet itself to break loose? With in reason I'm assuming. Up to what, 13mm maybe? (socket size)

I wouldn't. I know you can with an air ratchet but I don't with that either. If the air action doesn't break it I break it loose then use the air. Then again, I only use the air ratchet places the gun doesn't fit so maybe some other answers would help you out better decide.

It says it's new in the ebay description. I trusted him and bought one. I'll let you know when it arrives.

I was wondering that, too. My Craftsman and HF air ratchets have a "locked" position that locks the ratcheting mechanism that turns the air ratchet into a 10-12" long 3/8" drive breaker bar.

Not sure if the cordless has that feature or not, or how well the housing might hold up.

Unless you're dealing with small fasteners, the motor does not provide enough torque. Most people break loose manually, then use electric power to spin off the bolt/nut.

Guess theres CPO facility near me. Fedex says it picked it up about 15 miles from me this evening and will have it tomorrow. And I drive by that way every day for work. Didn't see any option for pickup. Oh well.

Ebay deal def. sounds cheaper. Wonder where the cutoff is for the 2.0 batteries? Maybe thats why ebay is cheaper? I dunno. Almost called to cancel.
