Any particular reason as to not wanting to use a hex to square adapter?
I know this is an old post but everyone keeps asking why not use an adapter. Simple answer because he doesn’t want to. There a many reason why someone would not want to use an adaptor. Length, power loss, one more part to have to carry/bring if working mobile, and best of all what does it matter. Plus his question was about doing a conversion. On a tool by changing the stock anvil not if there is an Easter way by clipping in an adapter.
Plus this is why people come to places like garage journal, because we like to think out side the boxes and we like to make things and we like to make things in way that we want them to be. Take me for example. I want a 1/4 square anvil impact that’s m12 fuel. Currently I have an extra gen 2 fuel hex impact just sitting in a tool box. I have absolutely no use for it and have no reason to use it. Also already have 2 m12 back up impacts let alone my 3 m18 hex impacts. So instead of basically giving it away on Craigslist since their value kn the street is not the best, I would rather convert the anvil internally. Plus when working with 1/4 most of the time size is an issue so the shortest the better. So looking at the specs the 1/4 fuel
Square impact has
Crappy paper specs
Plus the hex is basically the same with more
Power and shorter. So why not try and convert The tool. Why not
Make the tool customer to
The end user
Needs plus it will be a better impact. But biggest reason of all this is America and that’s what I want to do.
