Presumably lining up for a Labor Day sale (+/- a week or two)?

Mike
Milwaukee doesn't really back many short lived sales. Those you typically see a coupon code or other savings from the site, rather than adjusting any presented prices, as authorized retailers can't promote a lower price unless given the go ahead from Milwaukee. If a site does mark down one item specifically, you usually have to to add it to the cart to see the lower price.

I'm sure there will be some Labor Day sales, but I doubt anything out of the ordinary. Where these weekends seem to shine, is when whatever personal site promotion they offer, stacks with the promotions running. Otherwise, 10/15% really doesn't really speak to me.

That's unfortunate. It might be worth responding and pointing out that this image is at the bottom of every page on the Clark's site:

Seems unreasonable to deny a claim under "automotive" when the retailer describes themselves at an authorized distributor for Milwaukee car parts.

In the meantime, sounds like people should be aware that it's luck of the draw on approval unless Clark's starts showing under the HVAC drop down again.
My claim was approved under automotive but my brothers was denied. Very annoying with inconsistencies. His claim was first approved then a couple hours later he got another email stating that it was denied. This was Milwaukee's response. Car parts Inc is Clark's corporate name.

For branches, been happy with my trimmer quik-lok pole saw attachment. Home Depot had a good price bundled with the 3ft extension. Might be a cost effective solution for occasional use.
Am a big fan of the quik lok system. Between a top handle, the regular 16 incher, m12 garden shear, and a hackzall with a pruning blade am pretty much covered except when I am trying to buck something big in the middle of the trail (which also means I have to the hoof the heavier saw probably up the trail).

Also some more woot deals. Although the HD package deals are usually better. m12 grease gun and packout vac standalone are decent deals if you don't feel like fussing with extra batteries.

Getting an initial approval and then a denial is crazy. You had me worried about my approval, but looks like my items just shipped.

If Milwaukee’s going to play this game with rebates, they should have a way to make it clear in advance which vendors qualify for which rebates. The auto rebate form is different from hvac in that there’s no drop down. If Clark’s doesn’t qualify for automotive, then Milwaukee should be reaching out to them to have them update their website.

Unreasonable to put this on the customer. Not sure if it qualifies as a bait and switch, but it’s definitely deceptive.

Got an email from Clarks

Stick pump for $95. Even with the shipping a pretty good deal.

Since I ripped off the Band-Aid and bought some M12 items a few months ago (I was previously hell-bent on staying with M18 to minmize battery platforms), I'm seriously thinking about expanding my M12 collection and putting some of it into the RV. Will be watching for deals.

I don't check in often but managed to order one of these, my wife has been wanting one.
Also a new M18 fuel 1/4 hex impact because my other one died and it was on sale for $99.
Thanks for the heads up!

Good thing I missed this. I have some desire for the bigger chainsaw, but in reality the use case probably isn't there.

Do you have their 16" single battery chainsaw? If so, anything more than that and you're better off with gas. I watch an arborist/tree climber on Youtube that has one, and the 20" dual battery saw is no doubt awesome, but it is heavy and it eats through batteries quickly. I wanted one too when they first came out, but came to my senses pretty quick. I have all of Milwaukee's chainsaws except that one. If it's more than I want to do with the 16" saw, I grab my MS311.

Think I am in the same boat. Have pretty much all of the chainsaws as well (16 incher must be going on 7 years old by now), but always think it would be awesome to have a larger saw in collection to run a chainsaw mill or something. The high battery usage doesn't scare me as much as clogged carburetors.

A battery saw for a mill? You’d eat up both 8.0 batteries before you cut two slabs.

Stihl has the fuel injected 500i. Or, in my experience, just running a saw a couple times a year keeps my carb’ed saws running fine.

Clicked your link since I've been looking at these lately and saw the item below in the "Customers also viewed" items.
Looks like the same model number but with a pair of safety glasses for $134

I don't really mind that stores are locking stuff up. They are having a problem with people stealing so they are trying to reduce their operating costs to keep our prices lower. Without taking these kinds of measures, we'd have to pay for all the stolen stuff or stores would go out of business. What bothers me is waiting 30 damn minutes at Lowes or HD for some associate to open up one of the locked cages so I can get a 50 spool of copper wire. If they are going to lock stuff up, they need to be reasonably responsive to good paying customers.

I drove past the Home Depot and Lowes yesterday because I know they have the Romex locked up while the Menards down the street in a worse area does not. And it's cheaper too.

But yes this is another reason to order at home.

I was at Lowes a few weeks back and waited way too long for somebody to open the wiring cage. Thankfully, since it was a smaller roll (25 or 50ft of 12/2), I was able to slide it off the shelf and once it fell to the floor, I could get it out from the underside between the floor and cage door. I still paid for it of course, but I sort of feel that ingenuity should have qualified me for a freebie.

Since i am in unicorporated are of the county if i order it with free delivery to my door, it is 2% cheaper on the sales tax then driving to the local store. If it delivered FROM the store itself than the extra 2% city tax is added on.

If you guys want to start a thread about retail decline, go for it, plenty of topics there 😁, but perhaps here lets redirect to...Milwaukee deals. Be happy they have cages, or their inventory would be significantly off. If you know what you want out of a cage, scan the QR code closest to you indicating so. It pings all the associates phones, and escalates to a manager if no one responds. It works surprisingly well.

Special Buy of the Day is a repeat, but lots of Milwaukee

I just go home and order online. They can deliver it to my house for free if they want to treat me like a criminal in their stores.
Do you have the Home Depot app? It shows the store number which for my area is all 4 digits. Every lock i've tried it on unlocked so I just grab what I need, re lock behind me and pay. I can never find an employee for help.

I don't but I do know the store number, so that's a tip worth trying.

Don't even get me started on their websites defaulting to checking the nearest stores (over an hour away) Lowes must use the same back end because they are just as guilty of that one.

Not sure if these are any good, but 25% sale on the set of 5:

I have a couple of these but maybe out of habit reach for my ancient Irwin's. The nice part of the Milwaukee is you can stick a screw driver in the tightening screw and really torque it down. The build quality is not as good as the Irwin's but it's better than HF's Pittsburgh brand. At $11.99 a pair I'd buy them if I needed some.

I would advise not to do this, breaking and entering is a crime whether conducted by force or stealth.

I'm not a lawyer... however I don't think there is anything illegal about opening a locked cage without permission. But beware if you get caught, you could be asked to leave the store, banned from the store and/or even trespassed off the property by police at minimum.

Stealing on the other hand is for sure a crime. Or at least it should be.

That said, the codes are going to vary by store. Having been an HD employee before and after these stupid cages were installed, I can guarantee they are not always associated with the store number.

Saw this earlier on the news;

"opening a locked cage without permission" is essentially the definition of "breaking and entering". It is absolutely a crime throughout the US.

Feel free to verify with any lawyer or LEO.

Looks like the Milwaukee sales continue for Labor day:

I have both and these are good grab and go if your in the packout line. They have survived a beating given by a 20-year old Prevo overhaul recently and I can vouch for them. (y)
