That is true, but 5 years is a long time. I still don't think it would matter to me. Most of my Milwaukee stuff 5 years or older has been replaced due to better performance of newer models anyway. But you are right; you could squeeze out a few more months of warranty if you had legitimate proof of purchase.
Receipts usually hang around only until the credit cards are reconciled at the end of the month, with a few exceptions like car batteries that go in the vehicle file.

I can’t imagine hanging on to every receipt for five years.

I suppose one could start e files for everything, but that seems like a lot of work to set up and maintain.

Speaking of the heated gear, have you guys seen the square/flat battery pack they came out with just for the heated jackets? I didn't even know it was a thing until a few weeks ago.

Now that I've moved out of the PNW and back to SoCal where I belong, I don't really need the heated gear so I haven't been keeping up with those offerings but I thought this battery was pretty cool when I saw it.
Yes, I've seen some folks talk about using just an inexpensive flat battery pack that can be had from Amazon for about $30, but the new Milwaukee pack is cool. It's app controlled, but I think you have to have one of the new jackets that came out last year. Unfortunately, I don't think the hoodie I've got coming will work the with app, but the flat battery would still be nice. I figure if I really like the hoodie I'll invest in a flat battery

Almost everything I buy is online so I get a receipt in my email. I just take that email and drop it into a folder and keep it forever. I have only had to warranty a few times but it has made finding the receipt a LOT easier than if I just did receipt scans.

Well, there are some folks in Florida and New Orleans who undoubtedly felt the same way, but probably disagree right about now...

Especially when the fine print reads "original receipt required"

Definitively worth buying it for that 1 cold day every 50 years.

I know. Although, when my grandparents were alive, they were snowbirds (New England to the Tampa, FL area). It always amazed me how people who lived there year-round had a completely different relationship with the temperatures. Anything below 60 was a major problem for some of them.

Does Milwaukee have a hoodie that heats on the bottom?

My use case for these would be working in the yard (blowing snow, moving firewood, etc.) The hood is critical, especially in falling / blowing snow. Typically, the top of my torso is drenched in sweat when I'm done, but my lower back is freezing. That's without any heated layer, of course.

I just looked through a bunch on the HD site, it seems like the hoodies only heat the top half of your torso, and only the jackets with no hoods heat top and bottom.

Both types appear to be on sale, BTW.

Am I missing something?

My receipts are printed on invisible ink that fades after a few months tbh 😂

AdvanceAuto was the worst. After 4-5 months, you had a blank piece of paper. Of course they did this by design so people wouldn't warranty out parts that failed.

I don't typically dig for paper copies, but AdvanceAuto always seems to have my history in their computer. It might be limited to a specific store, but they have always pulled stuff up for me (battery warranty most recently).

Unfortunately, their availability (vs. my schedule) means I'm sometimes running to multiple stores to get everything needed for a repair.

Most times, I order parts from them online because there's typically an online-only coupon. That helps me locate receipts, because it's always in my email that way.

True. I haven't bought from AA in many years...like 8-10 years. I don't let stores keep my name or info in their systems...this way, they can't sell my info and I don't get bombarded with junk emails and spam calls.

I use an old home phone number that is no longer in service and a specific Gmail address I never look at, no spam problems.

i just warrantied a multiswitch i bought in '15 with a lifetime warranty. They dont even carry that brand anymore. I scanned the original receipt and put it in my files. Lady at the counter said that was a good idea. I just pulled a steering damper that started leaking and have the scanned receipt for that also. Its a Monroe and few years old but only has about 3000 miles on it. If they want to sell ****, I'll take them up on their warranty when it breaks then.

LAST DAY 2/2, IN-STORE @ HD. Cheapest batteries are the first line, more expensive the farther you go down.

$44 M12 5ah HO / $35 3ah's: grab a 2-pack of 3ah XC for $79, and the 5ah will ring free. 3ah pack will go back to $129 on Monday.

$115 M12 Fuel Combo Kit: Combo kit is $179, with free 5ah. Price goes to $229

$101 Combo Kit - Buy Kit, 3ah 2-pack, 2x 5ah HO.

$112 M18 Rocket Light - Buy 6 of them. $179 goes to $229 Monday, but $400 off $1000 BMSM has started

I don't care if the signs in your store are covered it will work, nor what your receipt looks like when it gets home...if it makes it home, its cheap thermal paper.
If you want other #'s, algebra is great :ROFLMAO:

Ordered a M12/M18 Bluetooth speaker from Home Depot because I needed one, I have a lot of batteries and it was $80 off.

It came in, picked it up, got it home and it won't come out of Aux input - cannot connect to bluetooth.

Taking it back this morning.

Only one replacement on lifetime warranties at advance now.
It's at the store manager's discretion, so maybe try another store. In my area most of the stores are pretty difficult on the warranty, but there is one store that is still pretty liberal on the warranty. The warranty terms at the time you bought the item originally still apply.

If you still have an issue getting an exchange, call customer service, they will tell the store to do the exchange.

Respectfully, start a new thread or message each other privately. One thing to meander on Milwaukee talk, but these alerts to non-milwaukee discussion is getting out of hand.
If you aren't aware, some people subscribe for notifications to deal threads, so they get a ding when there is deal talk.
We are in promotional change time, when there are usually extra deals, and instead of there are posts about advanced auto warranties.
I'd say please explain the need to continue, but don't, really dont. Go make a new thread call "Not-a-deal Advance Auto warranty discussion"....if there isn't one already.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good discussion to be had. Part of the reason I get my parts there or AutoZone. But if I want to go search for information related to this topic, I wouldn't be looking in a Milwaukee deal thread. Tangental I get, but AA doesn't even sell Mwk.

Best of luck on your warranties.

I'm looking for a
Milwaukee 2836-20 Oscillating Tool. I don't see this particular tool in any promotional deals.

I don't need more chargers or batteries (FLW) so I would really prefer a bare tool.

Any suggestions?
