Anyone here order from tool up? Dummy me placed an order for the stubby and the two pack batterys before I looked at the reviews and I don't look too stellar.
Thanks you for posting the the code for $25 off by the way.

You're worried about reviews on the retailer or the tools? I'm confused.

I've placed probably over a dozen orders w them, no problems.

They do have one thing that's a double edged sword: I love that they allow you to order things that are OOS, even w sale prices or discount codes (as opposed to say HD or CPO that won't allow you to place an order if they don't show inventory). OTOH sometimes weeks or months later I will have forgotten about an order and then - if it was a big order - wonder why my account balance suddenly dropped $400, $500, $600 whatever.

No problems here with ToolUp either. I have bought direct from them & thru eBay.

Th curse of unexpected order fufillments. I really got into a bind last year with several orders that were charged (or I guess funds checked is more appropriate) at the time of purchase, but then wasn't really taken out until they shipped at a later date. Learned my lesson

The retailer toolup reviews are not very good at least the ones I see online.

What else is it useful for?

Cuting out sheetrock for electrical boxes. Cutting through studs to recess medicine cabinets, cutting though screws when you need to relocate a stud or strapping. The list goes on haha

Oh yeah that reminds me I was able to pull an electrical box aside enough to slip a blade in against the stud and cut the nails. Near zero drama to remove a nail-in box.

Just a FYI some of Milwaukee's prices have increased: the chainsaw and circular saw are $50 more each but others are affected. I read this was going to happen because of the new tariffs but was hoping it was going to be after Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

1/2 High torque impacts went up. $250 now for standard that was just at $200 w/ free battery last month (down from $220), $300 for OK model that was at $280.

Other than driver kits what are good kits to get the compact m18 batteries in?

These are the kits I have bought over the years that all came with compact batteries Fuels had 2.0 the brushed had the 1.5's

Fuel 2742 16 ga. angle finish nail gun (1)

Fuel 2861 Mid torque impact wrench (1)

Fuel 2866 Drywall Screwgun (2)

Fuel 2754 3/8 compact impact wrench (2)

Brushed 2607 Hammerdrill (2)

Brushed 2657 2 speed Impact driver (2)

Don't care to use XC's on the drywall screwdriver just because of the weight factor

Same for the nail gun

Really in general don't need them either on those tools or the compact impact drivers and wrenches

And although the original compact battery took off all the lugs on my Dodge truck not even using half charge with the Mid Torque I do usually put an XC just out of convenience. I have more 4.0's than any others

The only one that I would rather use an XC on is the 2607 Hammerdrill because of the balance factor, its kind of nose heavy with a compact battery

I also use compacts for the flashlight saving the XC for the tools that really need them for real performance circ saw, high torque wrench, large flood lights, waterpump, grinder and of course my big BT speaker :D

I do find the M18 LED stick light stands up better with the weight of an XC battery and doesn't get knocked over so easy.

Can you elaborate on the teriff news? I see some stores have increased the price, while others haven't. If it's coming down the pipeline and inevitably all stores will raise the price, then I guess I better bite the bullet while it's still 400 with another 12ah battery...

The tariffs are the one's Trump has imposed on imported good specifically with China. There are a couple of rounds in the increase; the first 2 round have happened and the next is in January. Eventually all the prices will rise but don't know when this will happen.

Fixture prices have increased by 25%. I asked my rep why since they are made in mexico and georgia. Their answer was they have been selling at a loss to compete with china fixtures. Now what the China fixtures are 25% more, they can raise their prices 25% to make up from the couple years of loses. Sure.....

This sheds a little more light, thanks. Just wondering if prices are truly set to rise by a significant amount; seems so.

I was hoping to pick up a rotary tool (Dremel type) with some promos. I've not seen anything for the rotary tool, is there a deal I'm missing?

I doubt we’ll see much on the rotary tool. The best deal is probably the bare tool with a Black Friday coupon somewhere for 15% off. I don’t really care for the bag, 12v charger, or 1.5 battery, but it’s only another $30.

you might check out the BF sale at Ace Hardware which will give you $15 off any regularly priced item over 30 bucks, so you could get it for about 85

Is the HD $99 deal for a rapid charger and 5.0 M18 battery the best current deal? Realized I need a second charger and my current is just a standard so thought I would try the rapid.

The battery is $50-55 on ebay fyi. I wouldn't pay HD $60 for the rapid charger. I have 3 rapids & only use w/ my single 12.0

I've been watching to get another one as well. I have not seen a great deal on it since I bought mine 6+ years ago, as my first Milwaukee purchase. The kit was only $49 at HD, and was screaming to replace the corded unit I had. I think it is one of the tools Milwaukee knows will sell if it is on sale or not. Even though it is <$100, it is never one of the free tools bundled with other kits.

CPO has
Milwaukee 2494-22B M12 12V Cordless Lithium-Ion Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit with BONUS M12 XC 12V 3.0 Ah Lithium-Ion Battery Pack

https://www.cpooutlets.com/milwauke...pJobID=1402112270&spReportId=MTQwMjExMjI3MAS2

Is the extra battery worth the $30 over the $99 sale price for the regular drill/driver combo?
Thanks..

$30 sounds about right for a new XC battery, but no more. If you are looking at that at $130, I'd consider the Fuel kit for $170. Both kits will total 6ah in battery life, but will be 3 batteries in the basic kit & 2 in the Fuel.

Not being lazy, I searched both CPO and Home Depot but don't see the Fuel Kit for $170, have a link?

I went through my browsing history, and all the prices were $199 or above now. A bunch of Milwaukee tools jumped in retail price this last week, so I'm not surprised it isn't that low anymore. Will post if I see lower than $200
