I recently ordered an M18 surge kit with 5.0 & 9.0 batteries, charger and bag online for pickup at my local store (it was not available for purchase in my store) during the last Menards 11% sale. When I picked it up I tried to get an in store receipt with the 14 digit transaction number to submit for the rebate but was unable to do so. The gentleman helping me tried to do it and then asked a manger and they ultimately said they couldn't do it. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Have they changed their policy?

Got one a couple days ago. Nothing has changed, HD still has the printed receipt with the info, and the guy doesn't know what he was doing. Im asked everytime if I want a printed or emailed receipt.

I paid with a cc online when I ordered. Did you pay in store at pick up or online as well? I will go back tomorrow and try again to get the receipt.

just remember amazon is not an authorized reseller and your warranty will be limited

I was wondering exactly this when I saw the amazon recommendation. Thanks!

Just came across this on HD's website:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...Kit-2-Tool-W-PACKOUT-Case-2598-22PO/309101640

I haven't been tracking prices too long, but this seems like a decent deal, right? The hammer drill kit w/ hard case and 2 batteries is normally $180 and I've seen it on sale for $150. An extra $30-50 to add the impact driver and replace the useless hard case with a packout box doesn't seem too shabby to me. This package looks to fit my needs well, as I usually end up trashing the soft and hard cases once I move tools to my box.

I appreciate any input from the well-seasoned deal hunters

My understanding is if you buy from Amazon the warranty starts from the tools mfg'ing date vs. date of purchase if from an authorized reseller/retailer. In some cases the different may be pretty negligible, in others you might lose a year++.

What's the likelihood of a better deal than this for the M12 Fuel Recip saw?
Purchased mine during the free battery promo, been very happy with it. Light enough to safely use overhead to trim branches on a ladder one handed. My Dewalt 18v one required two hands to operate due to size+weight.

The whole m12 fuel line has been impressive. The compact power is perfect for my around the house tasks.

Not a great deal but Acme has packout stuff for 10% off with code 10PACK. They do actually have the dolly and the wall mount for sale thought. Has anyone seen those in the wild yet?

Home Depot / Milwaukee in-store free M18 3.0 battery 2 pack promo. Buy M18 Fuel Surge $149 and M18 Fuel Hackzall $159 or M18 Fuel Jigsaw $199 and get a M18 CP 3.0 battery 2 pack free.

Anyone have experience using both the M12 and M18 Fuel Hackzalls? Is the M18 a whole lot more powerful than the M12? Specs show M12 is almost 1 pound lighter and 3" shorter while the M18 has a 1/4" longer stroke with both putting out 3000 strokes per minute. I currently have the M12 non-Fuel Hackzall and it is pretty worthless in my experience. Although I like the idea of the Hackzall and its ability to be used one handed, the M12 non-Fuel version is definitely my least favorite Milwaukee tool because of its lack of cutting power. I want to upgrade to a Fuel version but with the M18 being a pound heavier, I'm trying to find out the difference in cutting power before I make a decision.

I've only got the M12 fuel hackzall, and I've been quite pleased with it's cutting ability. I never used the old version though, so unfortunately I can't provide a comparison. I've used the M12 fuel on galvanized steel pipe, EMT, sheet metal, and wood - all with good results. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

There is no comparison between the fuel and non-fuel version. You might as well just use that as a fancy paper weight. Fuel is great for pruning and will take care of most homeowners needs for what they need to Sawzall around the house. Plumbers love them to cut PVC one handed.

M18 is a step up of course. Little more stroke length & pivotable shoe. I have the m12 fuel then step up to fuel super sawzall for higher demand applications.

You will get a much better answer posing these questions in the Milwaukee addiction thread. One, more of an info thread, and two, I don't feel as there has been as much traffic in the deals area lately, but I also think this happens when school starts back up.

anyone know how much the battery return or one of the tools returned would be with this deal?

I have the non fuel hackzall and I agree it's pretty worthless, even on items like PVC Pipe I avoid using it, I should throw it up on craigslist. Got the Fuel M18 sawzall for larger tasks. The new HO/CP Batteries interest me but I don't need any new batteries other than maybe a 12a

I've never tried the M12 ones. I got my lil brother a M12 Fuel for Christmas but he doesn't live too close for me to try it out. I did have the M18 non-Fuel & have the M18 Fuel now. The M18 Fuel only has 1/8" more cutting stroke than the brushed but I noticed a difference. Feels more powerful & cuts faster but maybe it's just the brushless motor that made the difference. Both are still 3000 strokes/min though.

Only if you need the charger and battery. $69 bare tool is common price.

Plus it’s a small battery. A 4 or 6 ah battery is my choice for the inflater.

HD had a SBOTD over a month ago 279 + free 5.0 which wasnt bad. Theres not a new model coming out but I think a slightly revised, so the old stock might be cleared soon at all retailers.

Correct. New version will be same model #, but with an s at the end 2729-20s. Only thing changed is an additional safety trigger (makes sure both hands are out of the way).

If I get a band saw, I'd like to use it with a SWAG table, so rather not have the extra switch myself.

Such as when people buy home depot returns by the pallet. Maybe a group of people will buy a few pallets. Ive seen some pallets as just tools also. Not sure if they are being re-palleted by wholesalers or home depot does it. But one person will take all the plumbing/electrical. Another guy will do all the tools. Another will do building materials etc. All my ryobi tools have been returns still "newish" and worked okay. I pay cheap prices like circular saw or drain auger $15 ea. Grinder $28. Sawzall $20-30. You have to look up the model numbers though because Ive came across some really old/ mediocre preforming models that didn't sell well as new retail.

good example https://offerup.com/item/detail/762734514/
