I am looking to get a deal on the M18 Fuel 7 tool combo and a few stand alone impacts as well around Black Friday.

Is this the best place to watch for a deal?

HD thread also, thanx!

Will there be a better deal than this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...5-0-Ah-Batteries-2997-27-48-11-1852/308088150

That deal has 2 additional batts.

Better than the past, but they have the rolling PackOut with fuel drill/impact/grinder/sawzall/2bats for $500. That's before any promos they probably will have. Or get a 10% off and get it for 450. I perst won't buy 5s anymore, just because I'd rather have HO batteries, and I have enough 5s. Id say a good ballpark is around $12-14 per ah, maybe a little less for non HO batteries, higher side for compact ones.

That leaves you $550 to get a mid Torque (maybe a high torque instead, as the other impact is pretty power), circ saw, and batteries of your choosing. 6-1/2, Gen1 fuel if are hardly going to use but want 7-1/4, or gen2, or new rear handle. And I guess 2 batteries. You can get a 2 pack of 3.0 HO for $100, or less on eBay.

You can sell the packout pretty easy for $100 if you have no need for it

Some good deals on HD today as deals of the day. M12 light is very good. The stapler is back if you need it.

Yes, very good deals. I've been on the fence for at least a year and just pulled the trigger on a m12 kit with a drill, impact, light, hackzall, multitool and 3 batteries.

I'd highly recommend the Fuel version of the handheld hackzall, not the weaker one. Use my fuel one to trim tree branches and cut PVC.

I've seen that recommendation before, but for my use, it should be fine I have a small nextec jigsaw that this will be replacing. It is most often used for cutting holes in drywall. For any large diameter pvc, I would use my miter saw anyway, and I have manual cutters for the small stuff.

If a branch is too big for loppers, the chainsaw is coming out

But you can do all of it with the fuel, and not have to mess with the chainsaw. I have have both m12 hack saws and the m18, I use the m12 Fuel for almost everything.

That's great. I am not going to buy another hackzall or skip on a good deal for a combo based on your use case.

I have very little need to use my chainsaw. All of the trees on my property at 60'+ tall with few branches near the ground. If I need the chainsaw, it is for something way bigger than your fuel hackzall will cut

I am considering the M18 six piece cordless tool set for $409 and really don’t know if it will be offered at a lower Black Friday savings...... Decisions, Decisions, Decisions! :headscrat

Where are the best deals on M18 batteries. I probably want 5.0s or larger, but likely not the really large 12.0.

Will we see any deals on these for BF?

Batteries will always be the best deal in two ways.
1. A tool you already needed or plan to buy has a free battery or two included
I’ve never bought a battery solo but somehow I have about 10 that came as bonus or in kits.
2. eBay. Ebay always has batteries at “market value” expect about $60 for 5.0, $100 for 9.0

When you say a free battery with a tool. Are you saying the tool is on sale or reduced price to such an extent it's the same price as the bare tool, but it comes with a battery?

Milwaukee has some of best deals you most often won't see from other colors,

Many full XC-22 kits offerings are sweetened with an additional XC battery and often can be stacked with promo discount for added savings. Some kit offerings give the choice of battery or bare tool, most usually the M12 series,

I remember I bought one of my FUEL impact wrench kits with "free battery" for total of 3 4.0 XC batteries. The Fuel Hammer drill/ driver combo with "free added work light and XC battery" for another total of 3 4.0 batteries. My bare tool sawzall came with a "free" 5.0, the 2731 circ saw bare tool with a 9.0 battery and charger for the price of the tool alone.

Just got an M12 Fuel ratchet for $20 less than the reg bare tool price and with a "free" 2.0 battery.

I have purchased tools and batteries ONLY on "deals" more than I can even think of

Oh another I remember well A -22 M12 drill kit (2 battery) with "free tool" I picked the impact driver. My M12 -21 grease gun kit had "free" XC battery offer just goes on and on.

Can't much say others have such offerings

None of those batteries were free. You had to buy a tool to get the battery. If the OP of the question doesn't need more tools, his best bet is eBay/Facebook/OfferUp.....

Next quarter will have a lot of M18 tools with "free" 8 HOs.

Does the 1/4 fuel ratchet ever go on promo?
I'd love to get the home depot deal but I need the smaller 1/4. Been watching for a year or more and never see any promos for them.

You might not really need this tool, if you held out over a year. I do not have that kind of will power.

I don't need it..... but it would make certain tasks at work easier.
As an auto technician we adapt and overcome, however always looking for a more efficient way to accomplish tasks. Time is money.
I am frugal so unless I really need something I will hold out for a deal.

Do you have the 1/4" brushed? The reason I only went with the 3/8" Fuel is because there's a lot of torque on the Fuels and they're big, the 1/4" brushed (30 ft/lbs) ratchet seems more useful. The extended reach version of the Fuel on the other hand...but still 40 ft/lbs.

I've been seeing some deals on the ratchets on FB marketplace around here, those have been the best prices...but be aware, some of them are obviously tool thieves. One woman locally sells batteries for cheap and the top of the package are always cut off. One guy posts a link to an article detailing her arrest on every one of her listings, she doesn't give AF, leaves his posts and keeps the ads up. Clearly a thief and likely on drugs...so tread carefully.

That is why I don't buy any power tools from FB, Offerup, etc. Each to his own on that though.
I just had a bad experience on offer up. Not with Milwaukee. But i will be very hesitant to try and save a few bucks next time.

Torque doesn't matter. Your arm does the hard work, the ratchet just spins the nut or bolt.

Head size and speed are most important, IMO

Yeah, that's why I'm trying to tell him to NOT get the 1/4" Fuel. They are the same RPM so that doesn't matter. The reason you want LOWER torque is to NOT snap bolts on accident, 40 ft/lbs is too much for a 1/4" ratchet IMO...and again, the head of the ratchet on the Fuel is massive in comparison.

I have the nonfuel 1/4 and like it. Also have the fuel 3/8, but it’s much bigger and bulkier. As I get older, reducing the wear and tear and repetitive movement on the body helps. I have gotten golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow — I don’t play either sport — from wrenching (and screwing and sawing) and I am just a DIYer.

I agree with both statements. I have the non fuel 1/4” for size and the fuel 3/8” for power.

I’m in the same boat,

What shall we do when we want the long necks? Lol

As a DIY only guy, I don’t know that I’ll be able to justify the long neck ratchets. I know dozens of pro mechanics that will be buying them.

I'm a professional auto tech so I know what I am looking for so no need to sell me on one over another.
The reasoning behind the 1/4 fuel if you must know is the size. The 1/4 fuel is roughly the same size as the non fuel 3/8 and the 3/8 fuel is ridiculously big. I have some interest in the extended reach one but I think that the negatives would out weigh the positives in my case.
I want a ratchet that will fit in tight quarters without figuring out how to get the air hose there in too.

I do have some interest in the new Makita ratchet because of the rpm.
But what I don't have is 12v in Milwaukee or Makita. So kind of torn between them and they're still big compared to an air ratchet.
Originally was just wondering if anyone has ever seen deals on the 1/4 fuel ratchet. Thanks for all the feedback.

If you can’t get an air hose in attached to a smaller 1/4 air ratchet, I doubt you can get a 1/4 fuel in. Or a 1/4 non fuel for that matter. You might want to stick to air for your needs.

I have 3/8 fuel and a 3/8 non fuel love them both, next up is the 90 degree die grinder..as a diesel mechanic not being tethered by air is a benefit
