That makes sense to me. If you're right handed, you hold a 2x4 with your left hand and cut on the right. So the waste is usually to the far right. So yes, if you needed to trim, the sole on a leftie would have only a tiny perch. Also, a left blade would be closer to your face than a right blade.
The old left-vs-right circular saw debate… Stuart from ToolGuyd did a great article about this, concluding that he hopes manufacturers will offer more options.

Looking at the market today, it’s mostly blade-left for rear handle (worm drive etc), blade right for 7 1/4”, and blade left for 6 1/2”, and this goes for both corded and cordless. If there are exceptions in the current market, I’d be curious to know about them, especially if they’re corded (so I don’t have to join a battery club).

We’re an M18/M12 household, flirting with Metabo HPT multivolt, because of the triple-hammer impact and juicy pricing for the MHPT 36V circular saw.

(oh, and, surprise: the MHPT 18V 6 1/2” saw is blade-right, I guess that’s one exception to the pattern.)

It has been on sale a few times for 99 over the last year. Sometimes in combo deals. They might eventually make a new fuel version of it though, it would be cool if they did.

Thinking of purchasing a 2880-20 Grinder looks like a good deal on Mechanix Gear at $142.49 shipped. Is there a better option just going to be using it in the garage mostly for cutting. Getting tired of pulling the corded Makita out every time I need to make a small cut.

It rocked my world! Unaware of better option. This grinder is the key to the kingdom...you'll never be locked out of anything ever again.

I googled the grinder just to check it out and found this:

I guess it depends on if you have an Ace nearby, or what shipping / tax might be.

Friends don’t let friends buy non fuel M18 tools. 2680-20 is not the same as 2880-20.

Not fuel. This is one tool you don't even want to think about being brushed if it's battery operated. 2880-20 came out end of last year, the non-fuel is probably 6+.

Has anyone run into a good deal on the propex tool? I've only seen it on sale like once and a hesitated to pick it up, then the deal was sold out.

I recently grabbed one when Acme had their $40 off $299 promo. It was the best deal I had seen after watching for quite a while.

The underhood light kit is on sale at Acme, this kit doesn't go on sale often and it is awesome. I think you can back order it at this price if you are willing to wait a few weeks for delivery.

Not the bare tool, but only a bit more for battery and M18/M12 charger

HD has the M12 underhood light for $139 today:

If you work on cars even a little bit, and are already into the M12 line, this is the deal of the week.

Son of a....

I just bought the bare tool for $142 this morning. Looks like I gotta cancel that one...

I also picked up a couple M12 batteries. A CP3.0 and a XC6.0 with bag and charger for $89

Just grabbed the 2880 kit you posted, so perhaps it’s back in stock? Thanks!

Looks like they have brought back the M12 3/8" Stubby Impact Wrench with 6 and 3 amp-hr sale, but now at $199 instead of $189. Still a screaming buy!

Update: Already Out of Stock. Might want to watch it for more stock becoming available

Looks to be out of stock already.

The 1/2 drive version with 4 and 2 Ah batteries is 219: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...4-0-and-One-2-0Ah-Batteries-2555-22/305989026

I don't "need" the extra batteries, but I haven't really ever noticed a deal on the bare tool. Has anyone caught the 1/2 drive M12 fuel stubby at a better deal than this one?
