I have the Ryobi pin nailer and it is indeed very handy. But the large 18V stem-style battery is not well suited for this type of tool, and I'm considering buying the Milwaukee M12. But $200 for the bare tool is much too expensive IMO.

Just in case you are interested in the Ryobi model, it is available for $112 (3-year warranty) or $83 (1-year/refurb):
You will not regret the m12 pin nailer. Quick, powerful and is compact.

Home Depot is doing the “Buy More Save More” promo on certain Milwaukee stuff again. $299 gets $30 off, $399 gets $80 off, and $499 gets $150 off. I needed a 3/8” stubby impact this week, and noticed the promo on the HD product page when I checked to see if there were any sales. I scored the 3/8” stubby impact and 3/8” high speed ratchet for $127 each (after doing the “hack” with an M18 hackzall to put me over the $500 mark). Of course there was no signage at all in the store when I went to pick it up. Home Depot is terrible at advertising these promos…

It's not live in store yet, thats why it isn't up. Online promo's often start & end on different dates.
And after working retail, I'd rather have the sign up a day late, than a day early. Wouldn't want to be doing overrides unnecessarily

Wish they would just make it easier and give us 30% off.

I want to get the m12 Surge and M18 circular saw which is $179 and $269 so $51 short.

To maximize the 30% discount I have to order twice and return 1/3 to 1/2 of the stuff which makes me feel sorry for the home depot employees pulling the inventory and putting it back.

The m12 surge + drill +drywall screwdriver = $507, then return drill and drywall screwdriver

To get the circular saw + drill bits + hackzall = $528, then return drill bits and hackzall.

Are there some items out there that I am missing?

Just online order, set the tool you want for local store pickup and the 2 you don't ship to your house. Then as soon as the order goes through, cancel the ones you ordered ship to home. Easy peasy.

Thanks this worked. Last time around I couldn't cancel specific items without canceling the entire order.

I got a friend looking to switch from yellow to red. This might be the perfect time to do it. Is there a good starter kit available with the buy more save more deal?

Also I'm wishing the lawn mower was available for preorder with this...

Looks like its only limited to 16 tools. Most of which don't have batteries.

Please define starter kit though... I think that's at least 10 Milwaukee tools with at least 6 batteries :)

If I were him (or her) would get the M18 drill + M12 surge impact kit and then bum an m18 battery off of you as a friend. That's really the best combo. I gifted my M18 hex impact away a long time ago as its not as nice and compact as the m12 stuff for driving screws and small stuff, but not enough ooompa to use with a socket adapters on bigger stuff given other options.

I didn't look at the buy more save more stuff yet so I was hoping one of those 5 tool sets with 2x batteries would be in there. I'll probably cruise through the listing later tonight to see if there is anything I want but don't have yet.

Looks like Ace Hardware is also doing the same "buy more save more" event, but they have 24 qualifying items:

The banner doesn't mention $150 off $499, but the "details" link does.

This is as good as I could get it. There is a M18 drill kit available.

Ace tends to inflate some of their Milwaukee prices and then they have a sale.

I was hoping the HD Milwaukee deal was for everything. I would like to get the PEX expansion tool, but it is a little too much. I can rent one for about $40 for a day, but the hour+ round trip to pick up and drop off is a bit much. I will probably need to rent four or five times in the next five years or so.

Interesting package, averaging $120 a tool. I already have the stubby and don't need the high speed, but would love the other two for $120 a pop.

How does that new little M12 fuel vac compare to the older M18 one? I'm thinking of leaving the M18 for the garage and outdoors and grabbing the M12 one for indoor use only.

I just got one last week. Love it. Good suction, all self contained (tools hose etc)
Haven’t used it a ton so can’t comment on battery life but no issues so far.
I don’t have the M18 for comparison.

I want to get the drywall screw gun as well as the rear handle circ saw. Am I better off returning 2 items twice or just buying the saw and the screw gun on the same order and returning the twist drills?

if your order totals are the same on both orders, might as well do it on the same. the discount goes down the farther you get away from $500.
There is also a pack of multi-tool blades for $70 that makes more sense to include in your order, than the twist bits.

Switching to the OMT kit took me to 497.97, 2 dollars and 2 cents short of the big discount! Doh. I'll rearrange everything and try to go to 2 different purchases to make it happen.

OK, so I think I successfully min/maxed the rear handle circ saw. I went with the m18 bare tool hammer drill and the OMT blade set. This brought my total up to like 507 so I got the 150 off. I set the circ saw to pick up in store and the rest of the order to ship to home. I waited a minute or two and canceled the ship to home portion of the order and ended up with the saw for 189.56 plus tax which brought me up to 203.30 out the door. I'll dink around with the drywall screw gun later. I don't really need it, mostly it is a nice to have.

The current BMSM items

There was two BMSM promos active on Monday which double discounts was possible. Thats why the items that qualified was confusing.

Current promo runs till 5/1. If any of these appear in SBOTD until then, should be able to get better deals.

Theres also a BMSM on some hand tools and packout

I've been trying to buy the 2730 circular saw since this morning, but the discount wouldn't apply, despite the product listing confirming it was one of the qualifying tools. I just checked my cart and now the discount shows up... They've really fubar'd this promo rollout!

The BMSM promos were taken mostly offline Monday I think because of the double discount bug and weren't fully back until this afternoon.

M12 3" cutoff full kit for 119, local pickup only:
The price on this seems to vary depending on what local store you choose on HD.com. Sometimes HD.com will default back to a store in Georgia. This happened while I was looking at this tool and the price went back to the $199 price. I switched back to my local store on HD.com and it went back to the $119 price.

I am debating if this is something I would use. I am starting to build up a collection of M12 tools to complement my Makita LXT stuff for when I don't need the weight and power of the 18 volt stuff.

Outstanding deal. Will have to check my local store. Noticed price increases on several of the red tools a week ago.

Ordered the cutoff tool kit yesterday at $119, 2 hours later had my order cancelled before it was ready for pickup, now it's back to $199 everywhere I've checked.

That is friggin brilliant. I wonder if the charger itself has enough amp output to drive the pump on it's own or if you need to run it off the battery. Might be able to dual power set it up for line power or battery power.

Are there more build details for that pump? I'm not a FB guy, and Google isn't finding that (I'm not even sure what to call it to make Google figure it out)...

I'd want to be sure that was stupid safe (zero chance of sparks happening with that switch, etc.) before using with gasoline...
