Milwaukee Toolboxes?

Anyone seen one of these out there yet?

The top box seems to be like the DeWalt box that was posted up here somewhat recently...

The roller cab seems to be dimensionally identical to the HF 41/44", with a different drawer layout...?

I haven't seen those yet, but the drawer count and layout on the bottom box is horrible for any amount of money.

Who ever though that thing was a good idea should be kicked in the ****,only a little less than half of the bottom is usable. Those deep drawers might be good if you have a million blow mold cases but besides that it just baffles me that someone though it would be a good idea.

I like the arrangement of the bottom cab, not so much the top. With the deep drawers on the bottom, that looks about perfect for holding my Milwaukee collection and the shallow drawers could hold grinding wheels, drills, and a few other consumables.

Top chest looks useful and well thought out but the bottom roller is definitely NOT for the mechanic. The deep drawers could be useful for contruction tools or larger power tools. Otherwise depending upon what market its targeted for, there may be a big SUPER SALE (part II) in its future a the Depot

I don't think this was ever designed for a mechanic. Milwaukee and Dewalt caters to carpenters and construction industry with larger tools and sets in plastic cases.

I don't think these will go on sale like the dewalt chests they probably went on sale to make room for the new Milwaukee tool chests. Milwaukee probably made a deal with home depot but they had to get rid of dewalts model.

I would bet those drawers are deep enough to store your cordless stuff upright.

The DeWalt boxes are back on the website and have been showing up in some select stores again.

It'd be interesting to see if any of the stores will start carrying the Milwaukee boxes.

Sure. Ryobi's got some rolling, interlocking boxes kinda like L-boxxes only in AU. Supposedly pretty nice but we'll never know. I'd find you a link, but I don't care that much.

I agree that bottom chest was not designed with a mechanic's needs in mind.

And, you're right, Milwaukee and Dewalt cater to carpenters and the construction industry, but when did a carpenter or construction guy ever use a rolling tool chest on a job site?? A big-*** Greenlee or Knack job box, yes. But, this kind of box, never. I sure don't understand what the target market is.

Yeah, you're probably right, not that I've ever seen a DYIer use a gangbox either!! I can't see that this Milwaukee it would be much good for anything else.

I agree with others here for construction tools.

I'm too cheap to buy one, but if I did it would be perfect for the belt sanders, DAs, saws etc. Even the M18 bandsaw.

I just got to look at some and the quality is there the price is good and the model I looked at had a lot more smaller drawers than the one picture in the first post

Went to have a look today and the local HD is lazy, none of the boxes were out of the shipping box and the Milwaukee rep there said the store was way behind other stores getting the holiday deals out and marked.

I also went to hd last night and they had a display. Seems well built for the price point, the bottom drawers are less than desirable due to the deep drawers but the top was pretty cool with the pegboard and the power strip built in!

Laid hands on these today myself. I like 'em, build quality seems good IMO. I like the deep drawers on the bottom, but there seems to be some odd wasted space in the strip between the full-width drawer and the lower drawers. Plus it's just too damn shallow. Might be a winner at 24" IMO.

If I was starting from scratch I'd consider it.

I have a home depot gift card with $400.00 on it and a coupon for $20.00 off an item over $200.00. The local store employees said they go on sale tomorrow. I'm looking for a bottom box to put my old Snap On box on which holds all of my mechanics tools. So the bottom box would work great for me.
