Anyone know when you shop at Mister Worker are there any import customs fees or broker fees for shipping in to the US?

I've purchased from them and did not have any additional fees/duty due upon delivery. I thinks it a 'roll the dice' situation though. It was a good experience. Same with Axminster.

TechInn on the other hand was a nightmare.

Have their shipping charges been reasonable?
Everything was spelled out on the site with no surprises. The items I bought I couldn't find anywhere else delivered to me cheaper. Just make sure in the drop down that you're paying with US Dollars. Having said that it does take a little longer to get the items you order.

Ok so it is also how the item is shipped ie fedex international economy or priority includes customs paperwork between countries. UPS and DHL are the same with different services. Other levels of service do not include the customs part so its something like $50 where you will get billed for after it is delivered. Just because its duty free with CBP mean nothing if the shipper wants to also tack on their fees for customs processing, odd shape, overweight, fuel surcharge, not stackable, ect. Two of the surcharges can be $300 each and still include any extras they want to add on and does not matter if item was only 20 bucks. Luckily Mister worker did ship it international economy and it was only a wrench set I ordered so as of right now I was not charged anything extra than what I paid to mister worker. I hope a bill does not come in the mail in the next few months from the shipping company. Nice wrenches but I think I am done ordering from other countries.

Amazon Global Store is very easy to use when buying tools from Europe or Japan, but tool selection is limited and prices are not always attractive . No hidden fees, just an upfront "tax" of 5-6% when items are ordered at Amazon-US and shipped from Amazon-UK or Amazon-Japan,

I had a not so pleasant first-time buying experience from Mister Worker. I received a $400+ dollar Interapid set in nothing but a plastic Fedex bag. The case was severely crushed/damaged as a result. Fortunately everything is present and appears to be working fine (looks like these things are built to be shockproof) but M.W. needs to go back and evaluate how they package particular items. A small box with light padding would have helped tremendously and would not have cost much more - if any. 54035023881_c50684e152_b.jpg

^^^ i personally won't buy anything that can break like plastic boxes from an overseas vendor. Having received plenty of broken items from domestic vendors I'm not taking chances on something so far away. FYI all my Mister worker items have been well packaged and arrived perfect. Some stuff does ship from the factory so maybe that's what happened with your item. Anyway email them and they will probably make it right.

I always do my research before purchasing from any distributor or vendor. They seemed to have a good rep so I took the plunge. Usually Europeans are more careful with packing than us Americans. It was not drop shipped from Tesa in Switzerland as it was shipped from Italy where Mister Worker is headquartered. You would think it would be common sense to properly pack a measurement tool but as they say, "common sense isn't common."

I emailed them for either a new case to be sent or a small partial refund. Hope that's a reasonable request.

Yeah that would be the wrong assumption, they have the same issues we have here in the USA. I just moved out of the UK, packages have been handle practically the same everywhere I've been except Japan. I would say Packaging world wide has suffer this past few years. well hopefully they send ya a new one or refund.

It appears to work fine and contents inside weren't damaged. Would you still request for a new one or just partial refund or new replacement case?

I asked for a replacement or refund. We'll see how they handle it.

Probably just for partial or new box. But do make 100% sure it works.
