Just did a quick little project that will help me no end. Due to lack of space, everything in my shop has to be mobile. My drill press, one of at least, has been holding out for a while. I have been moving it with a hand truck which gave me the idea.

All I used was a piece of angle iron (bed frame) and a couple of castors. I got carried away and forgot to take pictures but the finished product is hopefully good enough. No close up on my welding until I am much better.

2 x 7/16th bolts and it attaches to the front of the base. Tilt it towards me and the wheels are on the ground for easy moving.

Hey, we see that nice piece of track and that motor. What's the plan?
Thumbs up for the classic tip and roll.

I'm becoming a big fan of mobility. I have an 8' x 12' room off of the back of the garage. While it's nice to have, it's kind of cramped. Even a 4' piece of wood becomes a challenge to maneuver. I took some old cabinet parts and built these rolling work stations, plus a workmate for good measure. I now use the 8x12 to store these things and pull the car out for projects. The workbench is messy because it was getting used today and the picture is a little dark because it's dark. :D Longer days are on the way! I really like having room to move around the saw and drill press and I'm also building everything the same height.

The motor is a dc motor from a treadmill. I don't know for sure what I will use it for. The track will be my anvil. I have another smaller length that I currently use. This piece needs clean up.

That's a simple fix. Seeing your shop I've seen your problem.
