Tried to approve the friend request and nothing seemed to happen?? I can build just about anything but this computer seems to have a mind of its own sometimes. Maybe everything worked but if it didn't send me a message and I will give you my email if you want. I pretty much like everyone. Well, maybe not my ex mother in law so much! Bobby

Well here is my first attempt and headliners and window glass. Got a gather at the center of the top rear windshield that really only looks half as bad as this picture shows. Still bugs me though. Everyone I have asked that knows says as soon as the top heats up in the summer it will tighten up. Still thinking of ways to get it now but age has taught me to leave well enough alone I hope. Glass was tough on my back. That rear seat tunnel never gets any easier to straddle.

I did use a hair dryer and considered using a heat gun but I am reluctant for such a small area to chance messing it up or blistering the paint on the trim panels. thanks for the thought Bobby

Well finally got to close the welding chapter. Installed new upper and lower cowl and am ready to install windshield and finish dash trim and install cover over speaker. Next will be to put the doors back on and install inside regulators windows etc. Everything electrical checks out and is working. Then only thing I could not test is the tach. as there is no engine installed. Bobby

Update on Mustang GT progress. pictures show installation of cowl and interior rear panels. Doors have also been installed as well as the windshield and headliner. Next is to install all door hardware and rebuild. Once that is done the drive train will be rebuilt and installed.

Thanks. I bet all the model A people will be glad when I am finished with this Mustang. Needed to take a break from trying to bust loose all the rusty bolts on those "A" s Don't know if my hands would agree that the Mustang is any easier on them. Bobby

Mustang is looking good Bobby. I met a fella (Frank) from the Model A club that bought a camper shell from me, and he put me in touch with another guy from the club (Larry) that might have a radiator for the inline six in my 63 Nova. Really nice guys.

Your getting close on that stang! Bet you'll be happy to be done working on that late model and get back to the old stuff with a shop that's so well set up for it.

Looking forward to seeing what you post next :)

I will be glad to work on a chassis standing up! I have installed the rear end and brake and gas lines will post some pictures soon. Used my 1930's Walker Gray hound jack to roll in and install that 8 inch rear assy. Balanced nicely in the bowl. One man from bench to wheels. That jack is sweet. Go U.S.A.

We now have brakes, steering and a horn that blows. Gas and brake lines are stainless steel as will be the exhaust system some months down the road. Back to more painting of areas that will be hidden and checking to see that leaks in the brake line fittings do not resurrect from the dead. Got to take a side job to fix my wife's old Sunbeam mixer as she does not believe in oil. I believe one of the shafts are frozen but am waiting on a copy of the old service manual to help me take it apart without causing more damage. My know it all days are long gone. Always open to learning anything. Bobby

For you model A people; The 31 truck and the 31 Victoria will be featured in a major movie to be out early next year. The director really liked the truck and I got a part in the movie filming the one scene it was in. I buy a basket of crabs from the leading lady. Movie is a WWII love story with the screen play adapted from the book "Sophie and the Rising Sun." So, as you can see, I have been busy. Sorry posts have been slim as of late. Drove the Model A 95 miles one way to get it on the set. The picture company sent a trailer to get the truck. What a great experience. Everyone was real helpful and nice.

Boneyard,

I just noticed a cloth towel "dispenser" in post #8.
I have one (circa 1050's) and have asked about fitting paper or cloth towels into it before here and amongst distributers locally.
Can you provide more details on what you are using there?
BTW your place and work are amazing.

Thanks

here is what I have.

I am currently trying to close the deal on a 66 Mustg. convertible and am up to my *** in alligators. However, I will try to take a picture of the inside of the towel dispenser. The way I do it is not only simple but allows for an extra roll in storage. There is just enough drag to allow for ripping the paper towels. They do not spin on the roll like so many other dispensers. Could have bought two more and should have. Bobby

I have an antique 4post Cable hoist. It needs the power unit rebuilt. I was told it was a late 30 to sometime in the 40,s.it will probably be scrapped.it would look good in an old shop like yours. It bolts to studs on top the floor. Would you be interested. Thanks

Here are some pictures of the inside. Just replace the top roller after loading the paper on top. Come out and over everything without going through and out the bottom of the cabinet if yours is like this. The roll should have the wood dowel going through it then put back in the slotted track. The extra roll will sit in the empty space on the bottom out of sight ! puts just enough drag on the paper going over the assembly, but not through it, to keep it from tearing and keep it from rolling backwards. Bobby

Just got the only other (yeah right) car I have wanted since I had to give one up in the middle of a restoration when the kids were small and needed to eat. Check it out.

Thanks It has a blue and white pony interior with wood wheel. Looks as good inside as out. I will have to fix gas gage, horn, a/c , and get a new top. Touch up some chips but getting to drive it will help give me incentive to work in this heat on the fastback. It also needs seatbelts but all this must come after I get the GT done. Except for maybe the seatbelts. Need to sell something now to get money to do all this!!

What a cool opportunity for you...I'll be looking out for this movie! If you ever see any more movie people looking for a rusty 63 four door Nova...send 'em my way:thumbup:

Be surprised. They look for the "distressed old vehicles" more than those that are restored. Are you in the Charleston area?
