More pictures of my 1931 Victoria to go along with the interior shown on page 12. I just went up on the barn/shop roof for the fifth time. Rained the other day. Have replaced nails with screws backed by rubber washers all the way to the ridge. Have put on now three coats of roof sealer. Never stops raining long enough to harden lower layers of paint or I have gremlins? At this rate the GT will never get done. And before anyone asks, My wife in the picture with the arm in the sling is not from my frustration over the roof!! The picture is a few years old and she was nursing a rotator cuff tare. I put her on some physical stretches I use for some of my students and she is fine now.

That is a beauty you have there Bobby. I'll have to look back to remember the interior. And I'm sorry to hear of the frustration you must be going through with the roof. You will prevail I'm sure.

Thanks 1/2 cup. I will be glad to send you rain but remember with the rain come the black clouds. It's getting crisp here too but it's crisp and cool. Got all me wood split getting ready to hunker down. Maybe some snow for Australia would be a better Christmas present?

I do love it but it must go as I need room to install a lift. I am getting to stiff crawling around on the concrete. Feels to much like a slab in the morgue must feel. "keep moving and no one can throw dirt on you" That's my motto. I can move faster standing up!

engine and transmission are in the mustang fastback. Rebuilt the Hurst shifter today and installed. Will work on reverse switch and clutch linkage and emergency brake assy. next week. Pictures forthcoming. Had to make some of the Hurst parts as to buy a kit to get them was too expensive.

Thanks 1/2 cup means more than a trophy.
Still can't figure out why it stiffens out when I stand up? The tell me it's age but I don't want to believe it! If you keep moving no one can throw dirt on you!

I'll bet your happy to have that project moving forward. And they say age is relevant, but I think it is very relevant to how old the body is. I have aches and pains in places that I didn't know could ache. Keep the pictures coming please. Always a pleasure to watch the things you have going on.

This is my adaptation of the engine hoist I borrowed from a friend. This tool works great. It is used by bolting to the intake manifold. I put the 289 complete with transmission (4speed top loader) in the 66 GT with the one I got from my buddy but in building my own I did some of my own tests and determined that the design needed some improvement. I used mine to pick up the whole front end of the GT. You can track the hook eye from one end to the other while the engine/trans. is in the air. I was able to put the whole thing in without making a scratch on the paint inside the engine compartment. Didn't paint it Ford blue though. Had some paint left over from the Walker jack build and thought it more appropriate! Not only that I am too frugal to waste paint. (did I say cheap)

Funny. That's what my grandmother used to say. Spent a lot of time there. Guess a lot rubbed off. Thanks God. I'd be in the poor house if it hadn't.

Waiting on the "right" exhaust trumpets from the Mustang supplier. Talked to three different tech. reps and they all agreed on the part number. All were wrong. No comment on the supplier for obvious reasons. The rest of the system is finished. Pictures upon completion. Drive shaft is in and rear shocks to be installed tomorrow. I will finally be done with the bottom with the exception of the plugs that cap off access to the front seat anchor bolts.

pictures of 66 mustang build. Exhaust, drive shaft, shocks etc.
This work was done on jack stands. The pictures were taken laying on a creeper so I apologize for the detail quality.

Thanks to you both! Believe me my bones ache. I have to ice down every night in order to sleep. Sad part is, I have a 9000 lb two post lift that has been sitting waiting for restoration for five years on a pallet outside the shop. I have to many cars that I need to sell but until we get some leadership here no one will part with the money. Meanwhile, there is no room for me to set it up. The fastback will be the last restoration until something moves. I will move to smaller projects until then. Maybe something will change before I have to learn to knit my own leg warmers!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure you've been there and got back by now Bobby. But Christmas here in Maine was unreal to say the least. Where I live, it was over 60*.

Today 12/29...we are expecting 4-8 inches of snow. :dunno: The old saying, "If you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute" has been true so far this year.

I hope you had a good safe trip.

Just got back. Picked up the wood planer and it is a beast. Trip was good with nice weather. Managed to get in and out without snow except for one day where I sat by a fire that I did not have to light. Taught my daughter well. Never touched a match. Helped my son in law put a lift kit in my granddaughter's jeep. What a pain in the ****. Back to work next week.

pictures of sawmill thickness planer. This machine will plane 16" wide by 6" thick. Very heavy. Got tired of messing with toys.

My friend gave me another planer of the new type. This one is not going to be used except for the finish cut although I believe the first one was defective as it was used lightly. Nice to have so many friends but the beast in the picture will do the heavy work from now on.

I was at a sawmill several years ago and the guy that owned it had a (what I thought) large planer. But it wasn't as much of a beast as that one. That thing is awesome. Nice score.

Thanks. Now it's time to get rid of this flu and get back to the Mustang. Bench work today on the four barrel. Should be in the house but got to keep moving so nobody will think I'm dead!

Carburetor finished for the GT and waiting for linkage and spacer block. As usual I have several projects in the works but am stifled either by waiting for parts or room. I'm sure that you all are familiar with the problem.
