Campbell Hausfeld Model VT627504AJ Compressor

I have recently been on the look out for a vertical compressor for my dad. I haven't had time to learn a whole lot about them yet but one has come up for sale that has caught my attention, primarily because is appears clean and comes with an extra after market water separator/regulator and large filter. The only problem is there is no good information about it online. What there is varies as to the horse power, one saying 4hp and the other 7hp.

Per the seller, the specs on the model in the ad are:

7 HP 220V
60 gallon tank
11.8 CFM at 40 PSI
10.3 CFM at 90 PSI
Max 135 PSI

The tank says 'Extreme Duty' for whatever that's worth. I can't understand why they would have sold the same model with both a 4hp and a 7hp motor and all but identical specs unless there was an issue with its performance (4hp => 7hp) or they were trying to cut costs (7hp => 4hp).

The reference to 4 hp is here:

There was also a 3.something hp model which has also been discontinued but that model number was 'VT6275'.

I suppose the other possibility is that this harkens back to the good old days of 'peak horse power' and the 4hp and 7 hp motors were actually the same. Thinking about it now, I'm wondering if that isn't it.

Does anyone have any experience with this compressor?

CFMs are another issue I'm aware. I still need to do my homework there.

Also try "LetGo".
I just got a 60 gallon 18 CFM compressor for $125.
Probably added another $150 or so to get it all set up.
