You’re very right. I have no racks for wrenches or pliers. The drawers on my other box were too shallow to stand anything up. I could make more room in the socket drawer with some new trays as well. These photos were also taken while I was moving tools over. I had them in three different boxes since I outgrew my main box. I’ve added to the drawers since the photos were taken.

I think the socket drawer looks decent as is, that is the last thing I would spend money on at this point as what you have looks like it works. If the sockets are jammed in there so tight that you can’t easily grab them it’s also not ideal. I would focus on the wrenches and pliers first.

I like the Ernst wrench racks. The large 16 slot plastic trays in standard and reverse are nice for the main sets and I use their gripper racks for most everything else. Keep in mind that Tekton makes basically identical gripper stubby racks in different configurations for more wrenches than Ernst.

For pliers and screwdrivers I ended up using the Ernst manufacturing trays. My plier drawer is shallow so I can’t stand them up. Not as nice as dedicated trays, but space and cost efficient.

My setup is somewhat crippled by the 24”x24” and 18”x24” drawers. I was going to attach more pictures, but for some reason the site is only allowing me to take and upload one on this post.

Thanks for the links. I like the non-gripper type better I think. I have 18 metric RP wrenches so I'd like to fine a rack to fit them all. There are so many options. I like the separate rail options for wrenches but don't like that they usually don't have strong enough magnets to hold through drawer liners or they use double sided tape.

Do you think my screwdriver drawer leaves a bit to be desired? I could run the slotted backwards intertwining the shafts but the handles vary in width so it can get a little off as it goes.

As far as pliers go, I really don't have many pliers. I have always gotten by with a minimal set of pliers. I never realized how littler pliers I have until I started organizing this box. It's pretty pathetic. I've alway's made do with a couple pieces.

I have 18 in that Wrightgrip metric set, you can see the two placed on the left edge of the drawer. I haven’t seen any one piece wrench organizers holding more than 16. I had crappy Craftsman rail organizers in my last box, I never had issues with them moving due to the weight of the wrenches on top of them. I just swapped my Craftsman RP sets for the Wright, so maybe I need to try some rails. My drawer liners are soft enough that the rails will sink in and not move.

As for the gripper rails, I agree about liking non captured better, but they are very space efficient for me. You can always cut off the gripper part with some dykes.

The screwdriver drawer could be more space efficient with a rack like what’s linked below, but at the same time it all fits in the one drawer so I don’t know that I’d worry about it.

I attached a pic of my screwdriver drawer, still a work in progress.

Hall Designs make some 24 slot wrench racks. I’ve been eyeing those for a while.

I saw those when looking at other solutions a few minutes ago. I like the idea and the offset design, but 24 is too many for me and the metal will be harder to cut down.

It looks like most of the plastic rail options are optimized for one rail running straight and the other at an angle, so they look like the letter N in the drawer. That should work well in my narrow drawers. I find it funny that many of the reviews complain that the rails are unequal length.
