Hey guy's! I out-grew my Blue-Point stacker setup years ago. I've got to get a new box as I've got tools all over the place outside of my box.
I've got a pretty narrow focus here so I was looking for some input from those that have 'been there.' I want a 29-30" deep double or possibly triple bank box. At first I had my heart set on the HF 72" but after laying eyes on the deeper boxes that box looks pointless to me now. I also hate the right side only latches. The KRL1022 is roughly the same cu. in. as the long 72" HF box and the KRL is only 56" wide. It also has two full length drawers.
My main question is regarding the higher end import boxes. I'm possibly going to go look at an Extreme Green KRL1022 with tools (75% junk but some Snappy stuff as well) that is listed for $3k. It doesn't have a top but looks to be in really great shape. I think the KRL1022 would fit all of my stuff especially after getting a 48"x72" cabinet to hold the rest of the bulkier stuff thats in cases. I was at a Menards the other day and was playing with their 72" Masterforce box. I was really impressed. The main problem is that I'm in FL and there isn't a Menards within 3-4 states from me. Shipping is $800. No thanks. StrictlyToolBoxes.com sells import boxes that appear to be made by the same company as the one that makes the Masterforce box, except you can get them in 30" depth.
What are you opinions of a nice KRL1022 vs a comparable Tool Vault box like the 55"x30" for $2100. For a few hundred more I could be into the used KRL. I think he'll come down a little on the price. Is the name brand KRL a better way to go than the import Tool Vault box?
