Closed on my first house end of august, been doing the remodeling thing to the living spaces.
So far the Hardwood floor refinishing has been the toughest, but most rewarding. Ive attatched before/after pics
Now its on to the garage plans.
This is a slow going zero $ budget that i'm looking to complete by the end of 08 (as I'm still refinishing some of the living space).
I plan on building the work bench, cabinets and storage bins, so everything can be custom sized.
My little 10X21 needs some love and attention
On the list already:
Fix the walls/ceiling. They are unfinished, with random nails and odd shelfs/hooks everywere.
Coat the floor. Have not decided what to use just yet. I'll figure it out by springtime. Most likely white epoxy-coat EDIT...Most likely not epoxy coat See thread below vs my thumb
Build Workbench I need a place to work on a variety of things (electronics, my guitar/amps, automotive stuff, some wood working)
Build Cabinets and Storage I need a place for tools (Hand sander, cicular saw, and a drill is it for the bigger stuff (Pegboards for the smaller items) Car maintainence stuff (oil, coolant, parts, and detailing stuff.
More outlets I think there is only 1 in there now
Lights Theres a single bulb in the dead center.Decided on five 2t8 4' fuixtures with diffuser
Please advise on anything I'm missing and should consider in my plans.
Now the big question is...... How can I maximize my space and still keep it a workable Garage?
I'd like have room to sit at my workbench, park in the garage, and work on the car when needed (no lift
Just jack stands). and the wife will probably use it to bring the kids in when its raining.
I attatched a floorplan for referece.
Are there any tried and true dimentions I should use as my guide when building my bench and arranging the layout of the cabintes?
And no ferraris in this garage either.... This is going to house my subaru
And...... for the second time since we moved in last year, I pulled the subaru into the garage
