I am not judging what Benny needs, that I can pretty much guess, what I judge is some of the pitiful advice he gets.
He should get what he needs when he does and not think twice.
they ended up buying the HF set to get the right size.

Could you elaborate a bit on the "reversible" part? I'm afraid my knowledge of that is very little. Are you talking about the ones that have a little flip switch on the closed end, where you can just flick that and start tightening the nut instead of loosening it? Have a feeling you are, but just want to be sure.

Yes, a reversible ratcheting wrench has a lever to change direction.

Many ratcheting wrenches are not reversible, usually ones with no offset or flex, so you have to flip it over to change direction. Sometimes non-reversible ones will have a knurling down one edge so you can tell just by feel which way is tightening / loosening. If a ratcheting non-flex combo wrench has a typical offset on the closed end then it'd need to be reversible because you wouldn't be able to flip it over and get it on the fastener in most cases.

Menards' Masterforce line is worth a look.

Unlike Gearwrench, they are US made and roughly the same cost.

Anyone know if they are of the same or better quality? I'd prefer U.S made, but as we all know that doesn't necessarily equate to good quality.

Yes the gearwrench brand set that I ended up buying, is not reversible. This is due to cost. A set like I got, Gearwrench brand, of flex head ratcheting reversible would be over $400. And still be incomplete, by my standards. I paid less than $100 for my set. One day I hope to upgrade to the reversible flex head, but its just out of my reach at this point in time.
