Contacted Milwaukee for Morgan jaws, they sent me a parts list, which I'm trying to attach here, for anyone looking for parts. Looks like, if someone wanted to, they could assemble a complete new Morgan from the parts.

Looks like a useful reference, plus it has a good exploded diagram that identifies each part.

Found an old Morgan Chicago vise at the local flea market with the only marking of 3-1/2 on it besides the Morgan Chicago. It has a toothed swivel base on it with a threaded rod down through the middle with a wing nut on the bottom. I think the rod goes through the bench surface and is tightened and loosened to lock and swivel the vise. I contacted the Morgan vise people and they said no one there had ever seen such a swivel base like it. Has anyone ever seen such a vise before?

Here is the picture of the Morgan Chicago 3-1/2S vise for the above post. Not the best pic but all I have right now.

It is sad that nobody at Morgan Milwaukee knows much about the history of vises. That method of fastening down swivel vises was very common a hundred years ago. Many if not all manufacturers used that system with a long bolt through a hole in your workbench tightened down with a huge wingnut or handle below the table.

I have an older model Prentiss Monarch vise with the through the bench mount.
Here it is in retirement sitting on a display shelf.

I have a Reed with that mount as well. (No pics...it was found in a dumpster frozen solid with rust and I haven’t worked on it yet)

Here is a Parker with a handle.
I’ll show the catalog page and my damaged little guy that although unmarked seems to be an awful lot like the Parker.

The only part not shown is the part I need. there's a pin that holds the main nut in place. Is that a standard taper pin or a special part?..Steve

Usually just an appropriate size soft steel rod will work. Morgan pin I'm looking at is not tapered except on insertion end for ease in starting.
