I made a nice junkyard kit from a Stanley/DeWalt Tstack. Its not super heavy and has 90% of what I need. I don't keep specialty tools in there. #1 thing is to always research before going to avoid any issues. A full set of torx and hex sit in the kit. But for any other thing like torx security or whatever, I have a small bit set.

Look on YouTube beforehand to see how the part is removed and with what fasteners, and you’ll know exactly which tools to bring.

In the interest of fairness, most YT videos don't call out specific tool/fastener sizes. You can see that it's a socket, a wrench or maybe hex or torx, etc. but that's usually about it.

It's not an absolute of course... For example a channel that usually does call out specific tool/fastener sizes and shows how to do specific repairs, is 1A Auto. https://youtube.com/@1aauto

Don’t forget about E-Torx, I’m replacing the engine in my wife’s 2014 Chevy Cruze and almost everything is E-Torx
