I think I got what I wanted out of this thread and more.
Went to use this thing and the cap doesn't fit. The ford 3 prong one has the prongs towards the top of the cap and my actual cap has them at the bottom so it won't twist on. I am going to look at other options.

I have an older Vacula model (now Mityvac Model # MV6830). It works well but needs plenty of CFM to be effective.
It shouldn't take much. Unscrew the outlet filter to make sure it is clean. If the o-ring behind the filter goes bad, so does the suction. How far it is screwed in also affects the suction. On mine, the relief valve came apart, but I was able to kludge it together. The large container O-ring is available from Uxcell on Amazon.

"When operating at 90 psi the MV6830 will consume 4.3 scfm of air"

Maybe not much, but at the limit of my homeowner compressor. It's all relative.

Well, never mind. I was thinking the MV6830 was like the older Vaculas that used about 2 CFM.

My Vacula (DX2.5) "requires" 2.8cfm @ 87psi, but it works much better with about 50% more cfm. Which is 4.2cfm, on par with the MV6830 requirements. Makes me wonder if Mityvac recognized this and upped the cfm requirements. :dunno:

I use an old brake reservoir cap and drill a hole in it; put a male fitting for a hose, then clamp it

the adapter is $28, so I saved 25
