How about I show my age the 1957 Trump I had at 17 (1967). Bought basket case, back together dads basement. Sold 2 years later for $300 when I did a senior trip to Nam. Best 1/4 mile was 15.99 at 99 mph. Beast!

Thank you....I am indeed not the one and only Wes Cooley..... :) the closest I have come to being him is that I just bought and am fixing up an 80 gs1000s...also known as the Wes Cooley replica bike.

Good to see you here Trevor. Surprised you posted a pre-restoration Cooley pic.

Love it, got it on one of their crazy sales for $220.

It moves very easy and has come in handy for rebuilding my bike and even doing oil changes with out breaking your back

I use it for maintenance of a lot of things.

I wanted to have a TV installed, a motorcycle lift in place, and some cleaning up before I shared a photo, but I'm not getting any younger so maybe I should put up a photo now. At least I have a black pipe tire rack now.
Here is a test photo I took with my new cell phone to check out the pano feature. It should be interactive where you can drag and zoom but it may be slow to load and clear depending on your computer/internet speed. You will have to click on the photo below and then again when it goes to the google site. I couldn't figure out any way to make it easier as this Google pano stuff is still all new to me.

Marty, the pano feature works here, but photo is out of focus.

I saw the same thing...cool concept.

Yeah, like I said it takes awhile to go "clear", a very long while, have patience it's a lot of data to download (IMG_20160805_203554.vr.jpg 16MP 9099 × 1758 6.5 MB)...get up, go to the bathroom or something...when it finishes you should be able to zoom in and tell the time on the clocks....but don't complain to me when the wait isn't worth it. Like I said my garage isn't finished yet, probably not ever. :D:bounce:

I'll see if I can just get a screen shot and post a link.

https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i...mugmug.com/photos/i-T2NP3n4/0/O/i-T2NP3n4.jpg

I just noticed that the A&W clock is difficult to tell the time so no you can't tell the time on both of the clocks even after you wait for it to finish loading and get clear.

Pretty nice collection.

I have a much smaller collection. 7 motorcycles.

Over time I struggle with finding the time to ride them and end up spending more time and money cleaning carbs and buying new batteries.

In my teens and 20's I never thought I would be that guy who let a perfectly good motorcycle sit long enough to foul the carb or run down the battery.

Not sure how guys with this many bikes do it but it there is lots of eye candy there for sure.

If you haven't made it to the Barber Museum in AL you really owe it to yourself to make the trip. It is an incredible collection.

As a side question, are you plating and insuring all of those bikes?

Thanks for the positive comments Mike and everyone else. Been nice to have the space to indulge my interest in bikes.

Everything is plated and insured. I keep everything ridden by never riding the same bike two days in a row, except when on trips. Has made me a better rider as I've come to better understand how different riding techniques can help make a bike perform better and have developed a better feel for what a bike feels like when it is being correctly ridden.

If anyone has a lead on an OWO1, RG500 and/or ELR, please don't be shy and let me know!

Awesome that you keep them all in running condition. I often wonder if people with this many vehicles get a dealer plate or some kind of special insurance that covers so many. I have trouble with my 6 street legal bikes as the insurer makes me get multiple policies to cove them all.

Again, incredible collection of bikes! Thanks for sharing.

It's not much of a lead, but last summer my brother and I were driving around over in Dinkytown by the U of M campus and I saw an RG500 parked in the driveway of an old duplex. I don't remember exactly where, but looking at a map I think it was in the general vicinity of 7th St. SE and 13th Ave. SE. It looked like it was being used - it was dirty and a little scruffy around the edges, and had MN license plates on it. Who knows, it may still be parked there - you may want to go drive around that neighborhood to see if you can spot it.

"Titled in California, located in Minnesota." That would be convenient for Ray, but I don't know what the typical asking price is for those things...it's not cheap at any rate.

Agreed, it's pricey. I'm also not sure if it's worth that much but, I do know he'd be open to negotiation.

It's a very rare bike that needs a very rare buyer.

He's making note of the CA title because those bikes were never imported to the USA and getting them registered was always a hassle.

I brought one of the much more common steel framed ones in from Canada back in the day. Nver did get around to titling it before someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

Thanks for the leads gents. The forecast is nice tomorrow. I'll try to swing up to Dinkytown and see if I can figure out where that RG is.

Never knew Dean Adams was a Minnesota guy. The RZV looks very nice and at first glance seems reasonably priced, except that it hasn't been run since 2004. On a 4 stroke, sitting isn't a big deal as long as the pistons/rings are free. On a 2 stroke, the crankcase seals dry out and fail because they don't sit in oil. After 13 years of sitting, recommissioning the RZV will require a rebuild to replace all the seals. Crankcases have to be split to properly replace the seals. If you don't replace the seals and they the leak air, the bike will run lean and seize. Good lead though, a rare bike worth some effort.

You betcha! There were horror stories of people bringing bikes like this over, and when they were titled (meaning showing legal ownership) they were deemed ineligible to operate in the USA except on a track for racing purposes... and the owners would somehow get them plated (usually shady dealings) and they'd get pulled over, the fuzz would run the VIN, and the bike would be confiscated and crushed. Just be VERY careful before you plunk down your pesos...

I've had grey market vehicles, and they always have an element of "cool" to them... but just make sure they're on the up and up.

The good thing is the RG and RZV are now 25 years old or more, so they are old enough to import to the US without having to deal with EPA or DOT requirements. Not sure how it would work if you found a bike in the US that had already been titled years ago under a shady dealing.

I don't know why but your pictures are not showing at all on my PC.
All I have on my screen is Saturday:
Then a complete blank.
However, on this pane that I have opened to quote your answer there is Photobucket code for 4 (?) pictures.
If nobody else is having the same problem it must be my machine, but I am interested to see what others have to say.

I think it's just you. Even your quote shows the pics that you were quoting.

Here's mine with several of the bikes I acquired in a trade before I got most of them torn down and stowed away for future builds. I think 3 are missing from this pic.

Hey all, I'm Jared Smith - Long time lurker, first time poster, I'm a web developer, photographer, and machinist and fabricator, and lover of old XLCH's, and air cooled ducati's. I live in Vallejo, CA with my wife and two kids. I've built quite a few bikes over the years, and showed my ducati single cylinder 250 flattracker a couple years ago at the 1 moto show in portland. That bike now lives at the Alta Motors showroom. I'm on instagram as @bluejackstudio

Here's my garage that I recently finished build out on.

1959 xlch pretty much stock
1957 xlch (chopped transmission, dual magneto, dual dellorto carb, dual plug heads - will be building this one next)
1995 ducati 900ss/sp (lightened flywheels, 11.5:1 compression ratio, FCR carbs, fast by feracci exhaust)

Machines / tools:
Everlast powertig 210
1940s Delta / Rockwell 14x36 lathe
1930s Sheldon Model 0 mill with 4" hardinge vise and vertical milling head attachment
Palmgren 8" rotary table
1950s Craftsman / Atlas drill press
1940s Jefferson power hack saw
Handy lift
Wilton baby bullet vise
5 gallon makita air compressor (this needs upgrading soon)

Baldor 2" belt sander
etc etc etc. that's the major stuff

And here's some photos:
