I just checked - this thread is over one year old and we're still getting new garages.

BTW, we replaced the CBR600 in the first post with this:

bikers started flipping that patch in the 80s. its kind of a hard thing to explain, but go in a harley clothing store and ask them if you can put that logo on the front of your shop door. legally they can tell u where that logo can and cant be. but they cant tell u how to display it. so yes FTF

Yes indeed, that is one unique motor. I've owned 90 and 60 degree twins, V-4's, and lots of in line 4's, and this is different from everything else.

I hesitate to say it's better than all the others, but it's certainly as good.

Not much, and it is the middle of some work now (aka, this is a couple weeks old), but it is mine, and only occasionally has my car parked in it.

As far as the linked article, I don't go into fancy car theads and post about idiots that wrap their performance cars around trees. Of course I do enjoy collecting dumb stories, and some of my co-workers know this, and send some of the more incredulous stories (best with pics of former bike) to me.

When I get back home I can give a better home shop and here is the mobile grage

Old thread, but what is the "HIGH VOLTAGE" stickers all over the (what I assume is a) refrigerator? Something special, just looks cool, or trying to keep the neighborhood kids out of your beer?

Here is our kinda a garage. I can walk in here in my slippers from the laundry room, witch is very nice in the winter time. I get yelled at when i flash up the welder but that's OK, I can live with the silence that follows..........LOL.

It's been a long time coming but I finally have my own "Little Garage Majal". After tearing down the old 2 car garage and start from scratch, here it is ...

Finally have the room to store AND work on the different projects I got going, and if I have to stop in the middle of something I don't have to put it all away to clear some space to be able to get to something else ...

Used to have a regular 2 car garage, with enough room for the bikes but there was never enough room for the car ...

This was then ...

And this is now ...

I realize that I am very fortunate and blessed and could not ask for anything more ... but ... as we ALL know "no matter how big the space is ... it'll NEVER be big enough" ...

ps: I know ... I know ... I NEED intervention but I guess I am stuck in the 70's and you gotta love the thumpers of yesteryears ...

Thanks. Lots of projects. So many I don't know where to start some days...lol

Currently working on the following but none complete...lol

1979 XS650 Rebuild
1978 XS Bobber
1975 KZ400 Cafe Racer
1974 CB750 Trike

Got a frame on the shelf for another XS650 bobber and about 20 parts bikes sitting around...lol The Fatboy is the daily rider but I enjoy them all!

The lift is nothing real fancy.

I got it right here

I am ready to get another one and possibly a third.

I have been looking at this same lift for my shop, wondering if you wouldnt mind giving me a honest "owners" review of the lift? Always nice to hear pros / cons from someone who acctualy has it setting in front of them.

Thanks,
Joe

The wood floor is awesome!!! It goes really well with the classic collection of bikes. Very nice shop!

Hey Harvey...the bike garage is really nice with the old wood floors. Your collection could use some more TTs though....

yeah, really cool shop. Reminds me of a showroom. Wish I could have a wood floor in my space.

Thanks guys for your thoughts on the floors ! ! I knew I wanted the bike part of the garage to look like an old barn that had been there "for ever", so we used 8" pine T&G and waxed them with different colors (ivory and dark brown) it was a real simple deal, it took quite a while to wax each board but after that it was a quick install and was well worth it I think. We also cut them at different length to offset the patterns and I have to say that I am pretty happy with the final result. For more on the built here is the link from scratch ...

Thanks fergus for your advice on the TT's, but I think that I am running out of room and a few people have hinted that this was getting "border line" crazy or obsessed ... so as I mentioned on my first post "I need intervention" ... but thanks for the thought though ... ha ... ha ... ha ... ( if you know of any good deals out there let me know ... ???)

Here is a few photos of my shop side of my garage's I want to sink the lift so I don't have things to walk around and the wife can park inside when I don't have a job going.

Well I got the lift in the ground I ran the air line under the floor and the controls are on the post so the floor is all clear.

This looks like a great idea! and relatively simple to do even after the fact! I am looking to Adding a lift for my motorcycles and 4 wheeler. The install looks really good. Thanks for the Ideas.

I've still got work to do. Gonna put down VCT. then I can put my lift in place. Been working on cabinets and just trying to get the loose ends *******. Haven't done anything in the bathroom yet, mostly using it for a store room right now. We plumbed 6 air line drops inside, and one outside by the door. Two are at the work bench and the other four are scattered down the walls where they should be easy to get to with just a short hose. Put some speakers in the ceiling and flush mounted the lights for a cleaner look.

I have the stand-alone single car garage dedicated as a shop for the bikes. Not nearly big enough, but it will have to do for a while...

It is constantly being reconfigured as needed... Winter storage, rally parts fabrication, or just keeping up with the maintenance on four KTM's! (950 Adventure, 950 Super Enduro, 450 EXC Rally, 300 XC).
