I finally checked out this thread, some very cool and inspirational moto-garages!

I'll share a couple photos of mine, such as it is... it's not the size of the shed but what's in it that counts! :) -Paul

Mines a brand I've never heard of, and haven't seen again, and I don't remember. But it was made in Italy in the 50's. Bought it from a motorcycle dealer I used to work for that opend in the 20's. The Harbor Freight lifts are nice for the money, but I don't think I'd buy one for a big heavy cruiser. Handy Industries is a brand we used at the dealership with good results. They were a little more pricey than the Chinese units, but very solid.

Ive been holding off on a bike lift because at first I was thinking it would take up too much room. But, lately Ive been noticing when working on the floor or on one of the low frame lifter type of lifts I feel like I need to sprawl on the floor to do any type of low work. As well, put my tools etc on the floor. I was thinking in the long run the table might take up some more room but be more practical.

Anybody have a lift in tight quarters?

Any thoughts?

my old garage was pretty small. I embedded the lift in the floor, and made the wheel chock removable. When it was down, you'd barely notice it. Not a great picture attached, but you can see the wheel clamp, and kind of see the concrete below.

Mine does have wheels and a handle to move around, so you may be able to move it out of the way when not in use, but it's not very manuverable.

I have two Kendon Stand up lifts. They are hand pumped hydraulic and have wheels on one end. You can stand them up in the corner when not in use. One is longer than the other, for choppers and extended frames. They dont have a tool tray on them, I use a rolling cart next to it, for tools and parts. I routinely put My dresser harley on it. I dont have a pic of just the lift, but here it is with a bike on it.

I second the Kendon.com lift. All my bike plus a Ironhorse Diablo and Fatboy have been up on it with no issues. When done you fold it up and put it up against the wall.

You should really hide your license plate. Otherwise, nice bike.
I'm rocking a 2005 R6S. I'd love to upgrade to an R1 in the future.

Years ago one could find out another person's address by going to the local DMV (Dept. of Motor Vehicles) with a license plate and a small fee. Want to know where that Ferrari is garaged? Get it's license plate, go to the DMV and get the owner's address.

Not any more.

It's not legal and has been that way for a good number of YEARS. There are rules around that now. It makes me chuckle when people go out of their way to obscure their license plates nowadays. Sure, I guess it's better to be safe than sorry, but it's like wearing a condom when having *** with your wife because you don't want kids...even though she's had a hysterectomy and you've had a vasectomy :headscrat

Kind of what I figured he meant. The truth is, if you post on open internet forums, your personal information can be discovered with enough digging without using the plate number. Meh.

I frequent a corvette forum and you should see how paranoid some of the guys over there are. Most people's new diesel trucks around here cost as much as a new C6.

It's a little more complicated than that. Invasion of privacy is about connecting dots between disparate pieces of information. An individual license plate on the street tells you very little, except what car that plate is associated with. It doesn't tell you the address, or who owns it, or anything like that. And since the DMV won't give out that info, it's mostly safe.

Where privacy is compromised, though, is when you connect any piece of information -- say, a license plate -- with any other piece of information, like a username. Yeah, it's not likely, but if someone were trying to dig up dirt on you (say, a private investigator) and they were able to discover your username, then they could probably discover your license plate via pictures you've posted. They might even be able to piece that together with other pieces of information you've posted.

Like I said, it's all about connecting dots. The less connections you leave, the more privacy you have.

Some of you may recognize me as owner of THE ASYLUM, but my other garage truly qualifies as a "Motorcycles Only" garage. Currently the wife has 3 of her 5 parked in there and 2 of my 5 are there. The cages are banned to the driveway!

P.S. Since I'm trying to keep my identity somewhat anonymous, if you happen to recognize my places as local to you, PM me rather than posting something like "Are you the guy down the block on Elm Street? It just gives away too much information to the predators.
Maybe we can hook up and drink a beer

Nice Beemer cruisers!

My little place, my plan is to do some higher storage for random ****. The original idea was low clutter, but the walls are too convenient for hanging stuff. I

since we are showing bike off lol
my 07 Street Glide i have been doing some work to since i got it last may..
was stock when i got it.. i did all the powder coating myself, along with everything else you see.. the wheels were a big add on that really made the bike stand out.. 21x3.5 in the front and 18x4.25 in the rear..

suspension is totally redone as well.. Ohlins Shocks in the rear, race tech internals in the forks.. one of the better handling Harleys id say lol
