I am liking this! What kind of plans you got? Rear sets, bum stop style seat?

Naw, i'm going a little more towards the tracker look.

There's too many ****** honda cafe's out there. I just want something with a little style, and not too much b.s.

Gold renthals 1 1/8" bars, brembo brakes, soon to have some dirt track maxxis tires, and some dirt bike foot pegs.

I am making a seat based on the W650 dirt track seat. should be something ugly and slow. :)

I’m inflicted with the moto bug also. Here’s my standard two car garage. The spousal unit’s only request was to park her car in the garage and no girly posters. Other then this, it serves as moto storage and shop. We put in a concrete pond two years ago and added a 16’x8’ storage shed. This really cleaned up the garage and allowed all lawn maintenance type items to be kept in the storage shed along with pool supplies. Future plans are for an 18’x16’ shop addition to the left of the existing garage with an 8’ garage door. The existing window in the demising wall between the two areas will become the door into the shop.

The bikes get one space in the 3-car garage. Moved in almost three years ago from a condo with a storage locker; I still appreciate every square foot of this place!

I was motivated recently by this forum to get rid of the wire racking and metal shelves, and build the 2x4 + plywood shelves you see here. Now I have room to get around the bikes, and can pull out the CB160 race project on its wheeled platform to work on it (which isn't often, so far).

Ok guys,

Here's my Bike/mancave. My wife complains we have the only garage in town with no room for even 1 car....only bikes and a Toro Hydroject 3000. Even Tim the toolman Taylor hasn't got one of those buggers in his garage!! These pics were taken late one night and it was in need of a major clean-up. Since done...but nowhere as uncluttered as many of your shops

tez929rr - Any chance you could post up a better close up of that jacket/helmet rack you built? I've been thinking of building the same thing for my stuff.

Rickdanger - Maybe Im just an idiot, but is that Husqvarna you got in that picture just floating in midair?

What's sitting there is a red Toro Hydroject 3000. Check out

http://www.toro.com/golf/cultivation/aerator/green/flash/index_hj.html

Was minding my own business last spring surfing ebay (while my wife was out shopping) thinking about how the lawn needed aerating and how I hated the little turds that always leaves behind. Then found the Hydroject 3000 at an auction site about an hour away. So swooped in at the last second and won it. Should have seen the wife's face when she opened the garage door ...priceless!! The Hydroject is what Professional golf courses use to aerate their greens and tee boxes etc. It aerates by water hydraulic pressure and leaves no turds sitting on top of the grass. It is powered by a 24hp 2 cyl Kohler and is hydraulically self propelled off the rear turf wheel. The front wheels are used for transport and hydraulically lifted once it's time to irrigate - You attach a garden hose to the beast and flow 1.5 gallons/minute during irrigation (min). Once ready you lower the unit so that the 11 hydraulically actuated injectors across the front sit just above the turf. Hit the engage injection button and each of the injectors blow a hole into the turf 6" - 8" deep. It is powerful enough to blow asphalt 1/2 deep pin holes in the driveway every 4" or so...how do I know?? Well I managed to pick up the 1150 lb beast and repaired what was wrong and now have a $15,000(new) aerator for the price of a Home Depot cheapie.

Where did you find the rugs you have? I've been looking for something like that but can't seem to find anything that's long enough.

geoff

Funny story, I bought them downtown Portland on a dark shady road from a guy that was selling them out of the back of an industrial cleaning truck (seriously). He said 6 rugs for $30 and I didn't ask questions. They are very heavy duty rubber backed non slip. I think there is a company logo on a few of them. I'll check tonight.

I have them in my shop too. Awesome rugs!

!972 Norton 750 Combat Commando

I thought it was a Norton. I love those old Combat's. I have had a couple but always seem to end up parting with them somehow. Restoring that one?

NICE!

I am going to have to pick me up a couple of those stands I see in a lot of member's posts. I currently have two of the Craftsman pro jacks and a lift but those would be handy for changing tires instead of clearing lift everytime.

For all of those that have them, any certain ones you prefer and why? What about front wheel stands?

Thanks

I'd be lost without my stands.

I have several brands, Pitbull, Lockhart Phillips, Harbor Freight, and the red stand is a chinese made unit I grabbed off eBay in a hurry and I have another no-name unit laying around somewhere. The Pitbull is hands down the highest quality stand I've ever used, followed by Lockhart Phillips.

Believe it or not..the Harbor Freight swing arm stand I have is a pretty stout unit. I wouldn't try talking anyone out of buying one.

Any of them work on the front wheel's too? I have found that my lift will not fit some of the wider rear tires when I put the bike on backwards to change front wheel. I have also noticed on most of the sport bikes the jack bends the plastics. Woul dbe nice to change a front tire and not worry about customer freaking out when he sees the plastics under his bike begin to buckle a little...lmao

The Harbor Freight stand has adapters that allow it to be used under the forks or under the swing arm. However, you do not EVER want to use a front stand without having a swing arm stand in place also. My Lockhart Phillips is a stem stand, for use on the front of motorcycles only..and limited to mostly newer (90's -up) sportbikes. I believe Pitbull makes adapters for their stands to work front or rear.

You'll need one heck of a wall!! Got me four of those bad boys - 750 fours all 77/78 F Supersports. The story goes bought my first 77 Supersport in 78 - almost new. Rode it until 2001. As parts got scare from Honda decided to go out and buy another as a parts bike on Ebay..trouble is the one that arrived was too good to part out so bought another...you know the drill. Got to # 3 and wife says no more bikes or they end up on the lawn with a "4 Sale - Best offer" next time I leave town. So...the fourthe bike arrives while she's out shopping and before she gets back it's entirely disassembled and in the truck of my Taurus SHO.....see "parts don't count"!! Keep two in walkout basement and one in garage....one in trunk.

A little out of the realm here but.... is that front tire installed on backwards? :lol_hitti

Nope.

It's a Avon Road Rider.

Installs backwards on the front. Says right on the side wall the direction if you're installing on the front or rear. Luckly I am not retarded and i can read.

Thanks though for chiming in.

My DG is not finished yet but I have already began parking the toys/non DD in it along with some odds and ends.
Here is mine tucked in for the night. I just thought I had an old bike till I seen some of the stuff in this thread.

Slowly.....most everything is finished except a little wiring & figuring out how to stop the oil leask into the dry sump.
