How many have motorcycle tables, and what kind are you using?

I have one that is homemade. It has removable panels in the floor so you can work under it an see into the motor if you need to. I don't have it so I can raise and lower it so I use an engine crane to lift the bikes onto it. The bike on the table in the pic is a '76 Gold Wing I was in the middle of doing a semi custom/restoration. These weigh in at about 600 lbs. It handled that easily.

Here's my little 13 x 24 outbuilding where I keep all mine. Recently insulated the walls and working on doing the ceiling to hold in some heat over the winter. Also added the G/F's GS500 as well.

I'd be lost without my stands.

I have several brands, Pitbull, Lockhart Phillips, Harbor Freight, and the red stand is a chinese made unit I grabbed off eBay in a hurry and I have another no-name unit laying around somewhere. The Pitbull is hands down the highest quality stand I've ever used, followed by Lockhart Phillips.

Believe it or not..the Harbor Freight swing arm stand I have is a pretty stout unit. I wouldn't try talking anyone out of buying one.

Checking into the Lockhart Phillips. Any certain one you prefer or know which one you got from this page? I will need one for front and rear and prefer to buy one that is easily applied and removed. The quicker the better...lol

Kneedraggers.com

The Harbor Freight stand has adapters that allow it to be used under the forks or under the swing arm. However, you do not EVER want to use a front stand without having a swing arm stand in place also. My Lockhart Phillips is a stem stand, for use on the front of motorcycles only..and limited to mostly newer (90's -up) sportbikes. I believe Pitbull makes adapters for their stands to work front or rear.

Just checked out the HF stand. It states the adapters are sold separate but not listed anywhere on the site. Well, I can't find them using search anyway?

HF Wheel Stand

You'll need one heck of a wall!! Got me four of those bad boys - 750 fours all 77/78 F Supersports. The story goes bought my first 77 Supersport in 78 - almost new. Rode it until 2001. As parts got scare from Honda decided to go out and buy another as a parts bike on Ebay..trouble is the one that arrived was too good to part out so bought another...you know the drill. Got to # 3 and wife says no more bikes or they end up on the lawn with a "4 Sale - Best offer" next time I leave town. So...the fourthe bike arrives while she's out shopping and before she gets back it's entirely disassembled and in the truck of my Taurus SHO.....see "parts don't count"!! Keep two in walkout basement and one in garage....one in trunk.

I really like the 750 SS's. I had one but gave it to a friend who had another one and needed some parts. He had done plenty of favors so it was a good deal. Too many projects for another right now.

Love the trunk idea. Of course parts do not count! I part out bikes and sometimes will haul home 10-15 bikes at a time out of someone's barn. My wife always expects the worst these days...lol

Nope.

It's a Avon Road Rider.

Installs backwards on the front. Says right on the side wall the direction if you're installing on the front or rear. Luckly I am not retarded and i can read.

Thanks though for chiming in.

I didn't know they were marking them now but any rear tire can actually be ran on the front if you turn it around. I am not recommending it but have seen it done many times...lol

I have this one but if/when I buy another I would never buy the side extensions. I have yet to use them! They just hang on the wall. I really like the insert for access to rear wheel. I have used ones without and ones with drop tail. When changing a rear tire by yourself this set up is nice.

I normally jack bike to back wheel just barely touches, then remove everything and pull the access plate. When re-installing I can get wheel up and put chain on and then slide plate back in and it hols wheel while I put it back together. Very easy really.

I like that! I have though of building one but how do you get the bikes up there. Especially a GW without someone elses help?

I use a car engine crane. Usually get the bike about the location I want it. Lift it with the crane and then slide the table under it. If it is samll bike you could use a ramp. I usually use this for long term stuff so it stays on there for awhile. I can put put my race bikes on it. The KZ motors have a removable oil pan. That is why I made the middle sections removable.

hhhmmm... Interesting. I will have to keep an eye out for a folding engine hoist. I don't really have room to keep one but if I could fold up legs and boom then I could make it work....

:lol_hitti Or in other words, as it is currently mounted the "tread" acts to displace water in the direction of travel as to minimize hydroplaning, reverse it and mounted on the rear it would aid traction.

well, its definitely yamaha bodywork, frame, motor...looks like the exhaust is removed, it may be on the rack in the back
looks to have some aftermarket clip ons, rear sets, the brembo brake upgrade...
in fact most of the bike is pretty stock until you reach that steel tube swingarm. i imagine its lifted from a ducati, possiby bimota. would have to see the other side to be sure. love the wheels.

Ckgdrums, no problem with copying the orange and black tiles. You can get a great deal on the GarageTrac tiles at bigfloors.com. They are made in the USA by the RaceDeck company. Enjoy.

Godsend. I sold an F650 and used the funds for the lift: should have done it 10 years earlier ! No such thing as a big job, once you've got a good lift !

Current fubar underway, HERE....

Must get some pics of the 'shop up, currently can't .......remember..........where..........I............saved them..:headscrat

Not really a "Motorcycle Garage", but a motorcycle in a garage.

P.S. The oil spot underneath the bike is from the car lift reservoir, not the motorcycle...no, really.

Ok, moose, you need to look a little closer, this is an R6 with about $16-20,000 thrown at it, and I think those fairings are custom too. Awesome job.

Pet peeve time, and yes I do know that I'm being an overly **** ******.

Where do you see Desmo? is that really trick swingarm opening and closing the valves without springs? If not why would you call it Desmo? :bitchslap :lol_hitti

Sorry but that bugs me about as much as people using the phrase Teutonic engineering. Did ancient Germanic tribes help engineer that BMW?

BTW that bike is nasty and I could look at the pipe for an hour. it is a work of art, minus of course the double can that I'm not thrilled with.

the swingarm is hand fabbed chromoly by gregg desjardins ( greggs customs )

there actually isnt very much on the bike that hasn't been modified, i have never had anyone say that this bike is pretty much stock - guess youd have to see it in person. some of the bolt-ons include:

- marchesini forged wheels
- brembo racing calipers, rotors and master cylinder
- ohlins forks, shock, damper
- the exhaust is currently in the works, used to be a dual system
- billet and carbon fiber everywhere
- dynojet ecu to go with power mods etc...

i stand corrected. makes my 08 look very very tame. love the pipe, in single form. nice job!
how you like your ohlins damper?

pet peeve moment...why dont they make a cover plate for the passenger peg slots?!?!

These Garages all have serious "Drool Factor", but your collection hold true my heart. The Hondas were two fun bikes I rode as a kid & the Husky was what a brother of mine rode. He restores bikes also Huskys are his number one bikes. He has two number plates signed Mikola.
