More road bikes than mountain bikes, although I have several mountain bikes as well. This is my walk out basement bicycle workshop, this shows about half of it. Its really more bike storage than workshop.

I am in the process of transitioning to a temporary workshop, using one unit of a duplex we just bought, while I rehab the other side. Once I get one unit done, I'll start on the workshop side, then finally build a "real" workshop. The duplex is really beat, but has potential.

The living room on the duplex is becoming bicycle storage. The kitchen is the main work area, while the front office is bike frames to be built, and the back bedroom is a tools/parts room. I need to build several more bike racks, plus some parts storage racks.

Everything I am building in the temporary work area is mobile, nothing permanently attached, so it can go into the "real" workshop someday.

Here's my first prototype bike rack. I plan to put three of them in the living room, two this size, and one about 2X this size. Need to come up with a separate rack for wheels and frames.

I typically work on vintage road bikes, but I picked up this folder last week (hey, the guy was selling a bench vise for $5, so as long as I was there, why not pick up a folder).

Yep, they are breeding right now. I have about 40 bikes total, about 10 ready to ride, 20 awaiting rehab, the rest donors for parts, or framesets. I like working on bicycles, and focus on adult road (racing) bikes. The folder is something different for me. The picture of my original workshop area is only half the shop, the other side is just as full of bikes, plus the garage is full, under the deck, etc....

I've had more bikes, I am down quite a few. But my 900 sq ft workshop became 850 sq ft bicycle storage, and about 50 sq ft workshop. Plus overflow just about everywhere.

I'm retired, so I work on a little of this, and a little of that. Right now, the focus is on rehabbing the 1934 duplex, as it is rough, really rough. Spent all day in the crawl space.... Bought it knowing it was going to be a project, so no complaints. So I have only picked up two bikes this year, which is really low.

Wow. I didn't realize how many bikes a person can own. There are more bikes in thrifty bill's first pic than I've owned total in my 40 years!

I'm trying to remember where I saw some great storage ideas for bikes here .
Does anybody remember the guy who built the really cool enclosed cabinet for his bikes and compressor ? Can't for the life of me seem to recall it .

I worked at a bike shop for several years, I am down to 3 bikes now, I like them old and simple. I have a steel frame rigid Trek MTN bike, a steel frame Fuji single speed road bike, and a kick *** aluminum single speed cruiser bike. I have a handfull of bike tools, but for major repairs I head down to the bike shop. I really should get some pics up.

Nice collection folks. My two road bikes are just hanging in the garage. The MTBs and urban cruisers live in the shed with the lawn equipment. I waiting for my next house where I can get a 3 car garage and make one bay just for bikes and bike maintenance. My collection isn't worth posting right now.

"Garage" . . . "living room" . . . same thing, right?

Yep, I had a nice chunk of cherry wood with three heavy-duty bike hooks holding my mountain bike up on the ceiling it the dinning room. We wrapped it with Christmas lights and everything. I bought my then 2 year old a dirt bike and keep it in the living room as incentive to get him to eat his meat and veggies.

I just picked up a Giant 29er, cant wait for it to warm up a bit. When I was at the bike shop I noticed they had replaced a few of the Park repair stands, so I asked about the old ones. I was able to bring one home for $30.00 score!! I left the heavy base at the shop, going to cut it down and mount it to my work bench. Servicing a bike is SOOOOO much easier with a stand.

8 are keepers for the family, the rest will move to a new home as I rehab them. I also keep about a dozen frames for future builds.

No real pics of my garage at the moment, but sadly my prized Specialized Epic Carbon got stolen right out of my garage a while ago. I had friends bikes and customer bikes in there as well being worked on. I'm glad it was only mine that got jacked.

At one point I owned about 8 bikes, currently down to 4. My co-worker at the bike shop I used to work at was a serious collector, selling/trading/buying bikes all the time. He had nearly 30 in his collection at it's prime.
