Thank you! I am so grateful to be able to retire and enjoy it. So many of my friends in this field sadly passed away too soon after they retired. Unfortunately I am sure you can relate. Thank you for what you do everyday! Be safe.

Plan for the current garage is to relocate the electrical guy wire. At first I thought it was an easy thing. However, when the power company came out I found it was not. I could move the pole, but that includes digging new power and reconnecting the house and a large expense. I am definitely not going to do that. Another option is called a sidewalk anchor which will bring it straight down from the pole and out approximately 5 feet from the side of the pole. See my professional rendering I have attached. LOL

As you can see in the current garage pictures the garage door is at an angle. I have parked the Toyota and Jeep in there doing oil changes and backing the Toyota in was tight due to the angle and railroad ties there. The plan after relocating the guy wire is to put more gravel in that area and it will be a nice entry and exit point to that garage door.

I am so excited about this project, I am doing anything I can to get ready for the new building. I decided to rip out all the old railroad ties. Many of them were rotten anyway.

From the start of the project December 10th to the beginning of January 2022, we have been really lucky with the weather.................however that is going to change.

Yeah as I said, I was hesitant as well because I knew so many trees had to come down. The finished project is going to be awesome , I can't wait. Once the building is up and all the gravel and concrete gets done it will be outstanding. Come on April is right, we got a bunch of snow last night. I just got down plowing.

My contractor for the excavation is a one man band....................As I stated previously, up to this point it has only been him and the tree guy doing all the cutting. We can not be happier so far on the progress and how professional they have been. Trees are done so he is on his own again. He digs out the shale, loads the truck and runs back and forth dropping off the loads to the site. He then jumps out and uses the dozer.
For three days January 4-6, 2022 he brought in 17 loads of shale. I was not logging the ones he brought in previously to fill in all the tree holes and pad besides the current garage. It is taking shape and we are very excited.

January 6, 2022 was our first snowfall. Pad was leveled out with all the shale he dropped and he worked on it till done. We got around 6 inches of snow January 6-7, 2022. Pad is covered with snow....................................

Took about 4 hours to get the driveway done. I am ready for Spring!

Looks awesome. I do not live where it snows nor did I grow up where it snows. The snow looks awesome and would love to live where it snows.

Beautiful scenes Scott! My folks have 60 acres up in the northern White Mountains (New Hampshire) with a driveway up the side of the mountain. Seeing that property covered in snow is one of the most beautiful sights on earth. I truly hope you appreciate the view of your field covered in fresh snow!
