Movable barrier for work area

Doing the planning/engineering for a 36x47 attached garage "addition".

What I will wind up with is a 18'x24' area that I am planning on using as a dirty work area. It will be enclosed on 3 sides but open to the rest of the garage on one wall (18')
I would love to have some kind of movable barrier to segregate this from the rest of the shop while grinding, sanding and other dirty jobs are being done.

Thoughts I have had.
1. Garage door. tracks would get in the way of the lift too Ceilings are 10' in the main garage and vaulted (~16' at the peak) in the work area.
2. Curtains. Downsides to this are flammability, it becoming filthy and dealing with tracks.
3. Folding doors of some sort. Downsides are complexity and taking up wall space when open
4. Just hang cheap disposable plastic while I am doing work of this nature

Surely somebody has dealt with this before. I am open to suggestions.

Number 4 is common in factories.

The clear plastic flaps that hang down may work. Dont know exacly what they are called but they are commonly used on big cooler/freezer doors to reduce the cold air spilling out. They are vertical strips of heavy clear vynil. No idea where you buy them either...

What about a door on horizontal tracks. Commonly called barn door tracks nowdays. You couldn't hang anything on the wall where they cover when open but you could hang some stuff on the door itself. And for placing stuff on the floor near where the door opens it would juat need to be a few inches away from the wall to allow tbe door to slide behind.

Also metal roll up doors that don't require tracks wouldn't get in the way of the lift.

My basement is divided into three sections - an enclosed wood shop with a metal roll up door, a metal shop enclosed with a barn door separating it from the center (non-shop) area.

Both the roll up and the barn door work well for their purpose. If you want to maximize wall storage then the roll up would be my first choice.

How about a couple of welding screens? Wouldn't be air/dust tight be would keep sparks and such contained.

I bought a few sections of racking ( at an auction , 36" by 16 feet sections ) for a shop divider ; then sheeted one side . I left a 9 foot by 7 foot opening to install a OHD that I have made into a high lift drive thru in line with the hoist bay . The wall separates the shop from the tractor bay so that in the winter I can keep most of the heat inside the shop to go and clear the snow. The racking also solved the shelving and storage issues that I required .

I keep meaning to pick up a ZipWall or FastCap 3rd Hand kit for this type of thing, just haven't done it yet. Wonder if it might work for your needs too.
