Vevor recently opened a brick and mortar store in Houston: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/vevo...TfUp-G042FZWEK_QxIS3m3fqedQNveKQD71AYrLU-4BEV

Edit: link fixed.

I found out about this when looking at a Chinese anvil, and saw that Vevor was offering a ship to store option. Sure enough there is a store in Houston. I haven't been there since I live about an hour south. Has anyone actually been there?

Edit to add: I have never purchased anything from Vevor, but they do seem to pop up in a lot of searches.

As I have no opinion either way on Vevor products since I haven't bought anything they offer, I did find this little tidbit interesting:

The store will offer professional-grade tools, including a Hands-On Pro Zone where customers can test items like woodworking tools and car jacks.

“As more customers want to see, test, and understand tools before buying, this store helps bridge that gap by offering hands-on product experiences while maintaining the accessibility and value customers expect from Vevor,” said Gavin Wu, Brand Director at Vevor.

While that's a cool concept and one I'd appreciate, that's a liability nightmare. If they do get this concept off the ground, I doubt it'll last long.

I've bought two things from Vevor, a seat for my forklift(actually bought off Amazon but Vevor was the vendor) and a hand held hydraulic tube expander. The expander was bought off of Ebay but again Vevor was the vendor. The unit was misrepresented in the ad and when I left appropriate feedback about it a Vevor rep responded demanding I change my review, I said no. They replied they would refund my money and I could keep the tool if just take down my review or change it to a more positive review. Again I said no. The forklift seat is actually quite nice for the price, firm foam with decent vinyl that seems to be holding up to the Texas weather.

NOT Vevor but I've just had a similar E-Bay experience on another item. Item was not as described so I requested a return, the seller(guess where) offered 50% to keep it, I declined, returned the item and submitted appropriate feedback. Seller then contacted me offering 3USD to revise my feedback. This was reported to E-Bay as it is against policy and did not revise my feedback. I see this seller has somehow managed to have my honest and appropriate feedback removed.
So much for the value of feedback when it comes to high volume sellers.
Back to your regularly scheduled program.
I have one or two Vevor items around and found them to be good value.
Once landed on US soil and in a retail environment I'd expect prices to be considerably higher than what we're used to seeing from them when ordering on-line.

ebay will remove "negative feedback" if you are a high-volume seller.
Had a similar experience in which the shipper was woefully negligent about packing the item, and I received an empty package.
Shipped by a third party, so seller claimed he wasn't responsible. Go figure. Eventually got a refund from ebay, posted the "negative feedback", which was subsequently removed by ebay at the seller's request.
Their "feedback" system is something of a joke.

lol, I never heard of the Beaver, err Vevor till a few weeks ago. Something like a Chinese shop??? Funny thing I was shopping for tools in one shop, and they had not one but two items, one from 1938, (Freezer) and a 1950 (stove), both in workable condition. I bet they will still be working long after the Beaver is gone. Sigh:rolleyes: The nice thing both items were snatched up in days, and I was told the buyer was very pleased.

What is the quality like of the Vevor?

Did the seller leave negative feedback about you? Vevor did to me.

They'll match online pricing - according to this post who spoke to a rep at the store.

With that and the tryout area in store, maybe this store doesn't need to be directly making money?

Sellers from certain parts of the world are absolutely ruthless about gaming the review and dispute systems against both problem customers and competing sellers. On eBay and Amazon. All the way through to having dodgy relationships with insiders at those companies.

No, they left the usual canned BS what a great buyer I am, easy transaction, blah, blah before even shipping.

I've dealt with schmucks from here too. E-Bay knows who butters their bread so unless you are willing to put up a big fuss they'll let these bad actors get away with it.
I was refunded but that doesn't change the fact the item was and continues to be misrepresented, largely I believe because they don't even know what it is they are selling.
Make a connection with a distributor of *** and all you need to know is the available SKU #s of the items the warehouse has, paste stock photos, compose a description for your listing and undercut the next boiler room seller's price by a penny.
Online sales is the perfect venue for both lazy sellers and bad actors.

I think the store and testing tools area is neat, hopefully they do them all over.

They are like everyone else, you can get decent stuff for a good price or you can buy **** for super cheap, just don't be dumb about what your expectations are vs price. I have bought at least 10 things from them and all have met my expectations and I consider them good deals.

As I have stated before I bought a hinged door electrical enclosure for a vfd from Vevor and it is top notch and came with an internal back plate for component mounting, and included a lock and key.

Purchased a cheap $39 trim router for a one time off-site job

Felt like a $19 router, scary at 20k rpms, lots of play in motor and base. Returned it immediately

I have their super-duper battery charger.

Digital display is hard to read, ( impossible out in sunlight). Went into spaz mode when working as a tender once and separately overcharged(ruined) my backhoe battery, not acting "automatic".

Let's start an eventual 8000 post Vevor "PASS-FAIL" thread. I'll start FAIL on this battery charger.

I just bought a Vevor stainless steel enclosure and it's impressively high quality. It was the only one that I could find that fit my needs, and I wouldn't hesitate to order another.

I have a Vevor top side creeper.

It's not great, but I have gotten by with it. It's OK at best. I would much rather have a nicer one. But the price difference was huge and I have found ways to make it work OK for what I do with it, so I have made do with it.

I bought a stretcher/shrinker with stand though wallmart that was from Vevor.
no instructions, ok
could not put the foot lever on and connect the thing to work.. I was able to get the stretcher/Shrinker to work (kind of) with just a lever handle. I did figure out how i could have made the foot pedal work after some welding/cutting.
i tried to contact them three times with no response, so I contacted wallmart and they contacted them to tell them to comctact me. They called the next day and said they did not have instructions to send to me, and offered a small discount. I didn’t think it was worth the effort so I told them I wanted to return it and I want a refund. They said ok and I got nothing from them.
so I called wallmart again and was told to return it to the store and I would get a refund.
I returned it and as promised I did get a refund.

then off course a couple weeks later I get an email from vevor offering a discount to keep the item….

My recent Vevor purchases thru eBay and Amazon include a couple G80 chains and a 55 piece 1/4" drive impact socket set. I am so far pleased with the quality and bargain prices of these items.

Mine was ok enough to do a turbo and up pipes on my F350. Paid around $140 for it.

I have one and it's useless, even with the expensive soap.
My System One parts washer with solvent works far better.
The ultrasonic couldn't even clean engine oil from injectors I rebuilt.

I've bought a few things from them, and they seem good for the price. HF has gone upscale, with some of their stuff getting too pricey when you just want/need bottom-of-the-barrel cheap. Vevor seems to have a really wide array of stuff. What annoys me are the ads they run on FB that don't tell you what the rather technical-looking object is in the picture, forcing you to click on it just to see WTF it is.

I bought the $250 Vevor ATV dump trailer last year and was quite surprised how well its built. Obviously on another level but the lower end Bobski trailers start at $1100 now days.

i purchase a vevor 58-gallon roto molded gasoline/diesel fuel transfer tank. it is a self-contained unit with 12-volt 10 gpm pump, filter, hose, automatic nozzle and a lid that covers the components.

i had need for fuel at a remote location and additional fuel to supplement my current transfer tank permanently mounted in my service pickup during my busy seasons. it covers both needs and it cost less than half of what a comparable sized steel tank and fill rite pump would be while offering the ability to be moved with pallet forks via the pockets molded into the base.

not sure on long term how it will hold up but so far it seems well made and checks all of the boxes i need and would recommend.

I bought a few things with their name on it. They've worked so far. The store location isn't close enough to where I go when I'm in Houston, so I won't try it out. If they bring one to Dallas I could see making a day trip to it.

I kinda want one of their larger 2" belt sanders.
