Well I got a second 50,000 btu heater delivered today. I wanted an 80,000 btu heater and now have two stolen heaters I don’t want. I don't want to install two of them to get me to 100,000 btu because I don't want to do two wall penetrations for the vents.

There was no packing slip with this one but it does say Attn: Foreign Name under my name with my address.

The first one had a packing slip with someone else’s billing address.

I guess I’ll call northern again to see if they can get this hole closed that the thieves are buying these heater through.

I’ll point out before someone sees this and says I’m taking advantage of the situation, I didn’t order a second heater.

^^^^^^^^^^Sounds like the “fraudsters” have a poor book keeping and tracking system........too funny ( and sad for those getting ripped off) if you get a couple more heaters. See ad on Craigslist in your future.......but let the dust settle.

Also sound like Northern does not have things under control in verification, accounting and shipping..........you would think by know there would be red flags in many areas.

Thanks for the link. I really wanted a Reznor but they are $800, and my 2nd choice of Modine is $600. At $259 for the Mr Heater, I could not justify spending more. Now I need to buy the class 3 stainless horizontal vent for $300.

Is Cat III required for code? The previous owner of my house put Type B through my garage wall, plumbed with gas and electric, the whole deal. But, he never put the actual unit in. I would really rather not have to tear up the drywall and reinstall CAT III thimble and pipe.

Anything horizontally vented now requires Z-vent or sealed stainless (same thing in most cases) You can check the national gas code to get the details. The install guides for these heaters will tell you the same thing.
