So, with my new garage nearing it's final stages of assembly, I'm looking to get some details in it before the interior gets finished. One if the things I want is soffit lights / eave lights. I see there's a programmable light switch, whi h makes things real nice as I don't have to mess with it all the time or forget to turn it off. The only problem I've found is I can't find a programmable switch that is also dimmable. I want the option to dim the lights if they're too bright.

My question, would be (and I don't see why it wouldn't work...) can I wire power thru the programmable switch, then go from that switch to a dimmer switch, then out to the soffit lights? Seems ridiculous to have 2 switches to do this, but I've searched for about 2 hours and cannot Fina a programmable dimmer switch.

Does this seem like it would work? Am I missing something?
Do you know of a switch that meets my needs?
Any help is appreciated!

There are dozens of smart dimmer switches that can be controlled through a smart home software or hub, and be put on a schedule, etc. A lot of them can be set up as 3-way and 4-way switches also.
I have a bunch of GE Zwave dimmer switches that I quite like. I believe they're now sold under the brand name "Enbrighten". Lots of other choices too depending on what type of connection you want (zwave, zigbee, wifi, etc)

Thanks guys! I saw similar switches come up but assumed they were just dimmers. Just to double check, those can be programmed thru the app, right? I don't have alexa or any other smart home anything to pair it to, nor do I want one.

Leviton has its own app.

Caseta is Lutron, not Leviton. I have a couple of Caseta switches, one of which has become a little too independent of late and does not always follow the programming.
