Cool progress. I have a dumb question since the concrete is being poured after the building is complete- I'm not familiar with the pole barn construction methods. Are the building posts simply dug into the ground and the bottom filled with concrete - kind of like you do with the typical fence posts?

They dug the holes 18" round and 6' deep I believe. Then they put a concrete cookie/footer in the hole and set the post on that and then backfilled with the post level. They then verified level again when attaching the girts.

Ah ok, that's kinda what I figured and that was going to be my next question that if they filled the hole with Quickrete or something so basically the same process as a fence post around here but just deeper into the ground. Thanks.

Here's a few pics of the concrete all done! Can't get out on it yet because of the sealer but it's looking nice!IMG_20180624_165341.jpegIMG_20180624_165337.jpeg

Wanted to share some more pictures of my concrete and wiring progress. The concrete turned out fantastic , I can't thank my buddies enough for the good work! I wired an outlet every 8' and installed 8 out of 10 LED 4' lights that I bought on Amazon. I am extremely happy with the results. It's more than bright enough!

Here's the link to the lights if your interested:

nice looking building
what is the black material between the tin and the outer shell?

we did a 24x40 years ago and I wish I'd used the laminated 2x6 method instead of pressure treated 10' posts. I also wish I'd built it allot bigger.
