More siding pics, the board and batten is done. The area left incomplete is for a little stonework. the lap and B&B are Nichiha fiber cement products and the trim boards and Shakes are LP smart products. I have some cedar brackets for lights and window trims. Paint next month, the colors you see in the pics are the primered colors.

Some recent pics of paint, light brackets, trim and some cool morning low cloud shots.

Having a good time in the lift!

My wife doing the custom paint. base color , then wiping on a darker brown to get in the deep wood grains...and wiping most of it back off.

It gives it a 3 dimensional look....more realistic.

probably should have unhooked the quad before leveling the lift up! :)

If you look closely, you can see the roof of the Garage at the end of the road.

Absolutely B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L morning!!!

Congrats! Beautiful spread, I am particularly interested to see how your layout works out. Ive been back and forth on divided vs open shop for the same reason as you.

After having my current shop wide open and all the grinding grit and primer and paint overspray all over everything including my mill and lathe I'm convinced keeping the dirty areas isolated will be a good thing. Besides it creates more walls to hang stuff!! lol:lol:

I hear ya.

< my last shop was 30x56 with no walls. A couple hot rod projects were enough to continually coat everything. Im am worried about loosing the open floor plan for stuff like pulling a cab off a frame (or minibike donuts):rocker:

PurdueSD. I just read thru your build....Nice shop! I like the wood siding used inside rather than drywall, it's been a few years since your build, would you still use that if you had it to do over again? Thanks, Jeff

Thanks, I really miss my old shop!

I used a masonite type hardboard siding. Its a little cheaper than LP smart siding but not quite as durable. I would never use masonite type siding outside though!

Yes, id use it again. I liked how it gave the walls some texture. Thought it added some character. The main reason i chose it was I hate drywall finishing. The panels came pre-primed gray and i didn't even paint them. I found some gray deck screws to hang it with. It worked out really nice. Also it was kinda handy that since i screwed them on, they could be easily removed. There were a couple times i removed a sheet or two to add some wiring.

How the heck do you wash your hands in that sink?
I don't see a spout for the faucet.

The garage looks great.

You are going to paint the drywall in the bathroom, right?
