So far, so good. I needed much more fill than I expected (180 tons) and only god knows how much clay I'll need to build up outside elevation. Other than that, it's been smooth sailing. Contractor schedules forced me to frame before I poured the slab but I'm not really concerned about that. I will say it feel small when walking around inside the perimeter.

Waiting on the power company to do their thing before I can make any more progress.

It's been a while since I've updated this thread so here are a few progress pics. I've gotten past my final with the county so its off to the races now. I've got the paint on the walls, doors installed, lights up, and surround sound blasting Sturgill Simpson. Still a bunch of work to do but happy with the progress thus far.

So where did you end up heights wise inside? 10 to the left and 14 plus on the right?

Also doors sizes? Looks two the same, one slightly wider?

Looks great!

Hey Riley, the lower side ended up just under 12' (actually 142") and the lift side ended up right at 15'. Good eye on the doors. The first door is a 12x10 and the other two are 10x10 doors. The wider door will be used to get my car trailer in for service without needing to thread the needle in a 10' wide hole.

Very nice work. I am thinking of doing something very similar at my cabin in Northern MN. Do you mind sharing an approximate cost?

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm sorry I haven't responded to this thread in a while. Work seemed to get crazy busy this first quarter of the year.

@Chateau Slate 66 - upstairs is being called a man cave right now. As my kids get older it will be decked out in whatever I can use to keep them here on my property instead of somewhere else that I can't keep an eye on them. Thinking about some gaming consoles, couches, fridge and maybe a air hockey table.

@rgood44 - roughly $100k

I haven't made much progress since the last post, but I did get floor sealed and the metal on the walls up. I like how it turned out. I actually stole the idea from another poster here on garage journal. Next on the list is carpet upstairs, tile in the bathroom then all the fixtures in the bathroom. I'm hoping to knock that out by the end of April.

Your garage looks really nice. I don't think you'll have any "high water" issues. Money well spent.

If you're referring to the metal on the walls, I originally did it more for looks than anything else. Being able to go hog wild with the water hose while spraying out the winter salt was a nice cherry on top. It's actually easier with ghostshield on the floor and that metal on walls to spray and squeegee the floor than it is to sweep.

I've been making some progress so I thought I'd add a couple pics to update the thread. I finished the bathroom floor, added toilet and sinks, had carpet put in upstairs and somehow install the lift by myself with the help of my trusty little tractor.
