Hey guys I'm new but thought I'd share my humble garage space. I bought this hose in August this past year and finally have a garage for my toys.

Anyway, it's a 2-car that was converted by the previous owner to only 1 door. I'm going to convert it back this summer to 1 large door. Also going to re-side the whole garage with red cedars so it matches the house and add a cupola. It was heated as you can see in the pics but the oil tank started to leak and was removed. Not really sure what I'll do with the unit. It takes up valuable space.

Nice setup! My only complaint would be not having "solid" walls. I'd at least go with some drywall or cheap pre-painted pegboard. I'm sure it'd really lighten the place up a bit.

Nice SI.. The first shot I could see the lips on the shelf and figured those were the OEM wheels :) Whatcha doin to it?

Yea the walls definately need some drywall. I want to do the outside first truth be told though and then sore out the interior.

The Si is pretty much "done" so to speak. Nothing crazy just a fun little weekend ride. Lots of suspension/brake (Tein. Autopower, etc) work and some boltons with a little squeeze.

Nice garage:thumbup ! Don't belittle it though, for us that don't have one (yet) it looks pretty darn good. Keep us posted on how the upgrades go, it does us good to see people making progress:drool:

What are dimensions on your garage? Reason I ask is that I'll be putting up a detatched 2 car this spring.

Thanks,
Ed

Thanks,
Ed

It's a 20x20 that also has an 8x6 lean-to shed attached to it that I use to store the yard tools.

Dwash: Thanks, I'm just trying to be humble b/c of some of the awesome garages I see on here I know mine isn't much. I don't take it for granted though b/c I'm 30 and never have had a space to call my own (garage wise anyway). It feels awesome to have a space for my toys. My house also has a full basement that will serve as my wood shop so I won't have to clutter the garage with that stuff.

You guys think I should just to tear out the big yellow monstrosity that's behind the mower in this pic?

My first garage came when I was 32, and it took me a while to get it organized. I really enjoyed working in there, though it was nothing special - two car attached. There definitely is something to say for having your own space, and being able to work undisturbed (for the most part)! Sadly we sold that place to move out in the country. To be able to afford the house and property (6 acres), we bought a place without a garage (carport or anything else). I have sorely missed my garage, and am itching to build another one. So, as I said, appreciate what ya got.
As far as the yellow monstrosity, I'm sure you'll be able to come up with a better arrangement. There's a lot of space back there that looks like it could be used better for workbenches, shelves, and the like. I've done a little bit of rearranging in the past with things like that, and it just takes a little planning, and several trips to Home Depot or Lowe's. :bounce:

Yes.

I would tear it down and build a 16" deep shelf at a height a few inches above your head all the way around the perimeter of the garage. You'll end up with the same or more storage space without consuming any floor area.

I'd also try to keep the wood intact while tearing it apart. You could use the wood for the new shelf or another project. Or maybe I'm just a cheap *******.

Burger: That's probably what I'll do. Seems to make sense to me.

I'll see if I can dig up a few pics of the GN for you ThrashN. The GN is like my garage though. "Work in Progress".

How come only the links show up and not the pic?:headscrat

Yes, my new build is only 16' x 20', but I started out in less than half that at our last place. I built my hot rod in this 8 x 12 pigeon coop:

How come your Nissan and your Buick both have the same EXACT number plate on them (red sox 19CX) ??? what's up with that?

What do you mean? Don't you swap your plates from your daily driver to your garage queen when you want to take it for a drive? :)

Nice GN, man. I've always liked them. That one looks mint.

I think the bigger question, is why does a guy that has a Buick GN also have a honda?

Kind of like Jay Leno riding around on a Huffy.

I detached the plate from the Nissan and put it on the GN for my mid-winter spin. No sense in having it reg'd and insured for the 3.5 miles that I drove it.

As far as why I have a modded Honda and a GN, I personally don't see anything wrong with it. Both cars are fun as hell in their own ways, and don't necessiraly have to be mutually exclusive IMO. I bought the Si new in '99 and has become my little toy.

The GN was always my dream car since I was 14 and finally was able to buy one 1 1/2 years ago (before I was 30 as was my goal). I have no plans on ever selling or to stop driving either of them.:)

My Unk's a State Trooper here in Ma., I'll have to pass your plate info along to him Monday. JUST KIDDING

Seriously though, is it really worth the few hundred bucks saved to illegally attach plates for even a 1/2 mile ride? Murphy's Law will catch ya some day soon.

Let's see...
illegally attached plates................... $1,500 fine
unforseen accident...... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
repairs to your own Grand National.... $$$THOUSANDS$$$
Out of pocket reapairs to other vehile...$$$$Thousands MORE$$$$
Medical bills & lawsuit.............. Is your house ALREADY mortgaged?
increased insurance rates...... $$$$$

the look on your face when your wife is reaming your *** out

ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS

OH, I was just kidding about the "JUST KIDDING" thing

Go right ahead sir, pass my info along. If you'd like I'll PM you all the info to give to Mr Uncle State Trooper myself. He can't/won't do anything unless he catches me in the act.

Life is full of calculated risks. Was I out tearing up the roads and driving like a jackass? No. Could something awful happen? Yes. Did Something awful happen? No. Is this whole conversation a moot point? Yes.

OH BTW: Did I mention the guy that lives across the street is an MA Satey as well? Did I mention him and I polished of a 20 pack last night hanging out at my house? I'm not saying he'll "save" me but "knowing" a statey means jack **** and you know it.

Thanks.

WOW...LMFAO.... slow down there dude... I said just kidding!:lol_hitti

I got better things to do then rat your a$$ out over something so self destructive. You'll catch up with yourself soon enough from the sounds of your attitude!

My Unk's a lazy a$$ slum lord :pimpflash ...LOL

I only said that to get a rise out of you jokingly... I guess it sure worked.....and then some!:bounce:

I'm not the one who posted cars with attached plates... I have posted completely in line with what you posted for people to comment on...

I can't "**** up" your post by talking about exactly what you post...I am completely "on topic"

:see:see

You have yet to comment on either the car(s) or the garage and posed the question about the "same plate number" with the specific intent of steering the thread in this direction. I answered your question honestly and candidly and you in turn decided to preach about the dangers and possible perile of attached plates (which is boring and nobody really cares).

You then proceed to double talk about "kidding" about the "just kidding" part in which you're kidding but not really kidding all the while boring everyone. This forum is not about traffic laws or relatives in law enforcement.

People asked to see pics of the car and I provided them. If you have nothing further to comment on other than what is really the topic which is my car(s) and/or garage then stay out of the thread.

BTW: Your profile says your "40" but you act like a 15 year old. Your "Unk" with a "K" LOL. Ughhh

Single familys except for the yellow Victorian one that you see in the one pic with my car in it which has been converted to apartments which it too bad b/c it's really a beautiful home. Not to brag but all the homes in my neighborhood are really big old homes. My house was built in 1890 and is a Dutch Coonial which is cool if you like old homes.

Someone likes to drink. Maybe if you didn't have to house all that alcohol, you could fit more cars in there.... :lol_hitti

LOL, I'll have the occasional refreshment but I like keeping it stocked for guests and bartering when I'm working on my cars. People are alot more helpful when you have plenty of beer on hand.
