My average garage...

Hey guys I'm new but thought I'd share my humble garage space. I bought this hose in August this past year and finally have a garage for my toys.

Anyway, it's a 2-car that was converted by the previous owner to only 1 door. I'm going to convert it back this summer to 1 large door. Also going to re-side the whole garage with red cedars so it matches the house and add a cupola. It was heated as you can see in the pics but the oil tank started to leak and was removed. Not really sure what I'll do with the unit. It takes up valuable space.

Nice setup! My only complaint would be not having "solid" walls. I'd at least go with some drywall or cheap pre-painted pegboard. I'm sure it'd really lighten the place up a bit.

Yea the walls definately need some drywall. I want to do the outside first truth be told though and then sore out the interior.

The Si is pretty much "done" so to speak. Nothing crazy just a fun little weekend ride. Lots of suspension/brake (Tein. Autopower, etc) work and some boltons with a little squeeze.

It's a 20x20 that also has an 8x6 lean-to shed attached to it that I use to store the yard tools.

Dwash: Thanks, I'm just trying to be humble b/c of some of the awesome garages I see on here I know mine isn't much. I don't take it for granted though b/c I'm 30 and never have had a space to call my own (garage wise anyway). It feels awesome to have a space for my toys. My house also has a full basement that will serve as my wood shop so I won't have to clutter the garage with that stuff.

I know nothing about heating systems whatsoever.

My first garage came when I was 32, and it took me a while to get it organized. I really enjoyed working in there, though it was nothing special - two car attached. There definitely is something to say for having your own space, and being able to work undisturbed (for the most part)! Sadly we sold that place to move out in the country. To be able to afford the house and property (6 acres), we bought a place without a garage (carport or anything else). I have sorely missed my garage, and am itching to build another one. So, as I said, appreciate what ya got.
As far as the yellow monstrosity, I'm sure you'll be able to come up with a better arrangement. There's a lot of space back there that looks like it could be used better for workbenches, shelves, and the like. I've done a little bit of rearranging in the past with things like that, and it just takes a little planning, and several trips to Home Depot or Lowe's.

Yes.

I would tear it down and build a 16" deep shelf at a height a few inches above your head all the way around the perimeter of the garage. You'll end up with the same or more storage space without consuming any floor area.

I'd also try to keep the wood intact while tearing it apart. You could use the wood for the new shelf or another project. Or maybe I'm just a cheap *******.

I think the bigger question, is why does a guy that has a Buick GN also have a honda?

I detached the plate from the Nissan and put it on the GN for my mid-winter spin. No sense in having it reg'd and insured for the 3.5 miles that I drove it.

As far as why I have a modded Honda and a GN, I personally don't see anything wrong with it. Both cars are fun as hell in their own ways, and don't necessiraly have to be mutually exclusive IMO. I bought the Si new in '99 and has become my little toy.

The GN was always my dream car since I was 14 and finally was able to buy one 1 1/2 years ago (before I was 30 as was my goal). I have no plans on ever selling or to stop driving either of them.

You have yet to comment on either the car(s) or the garage and posed the question about the "same plate number" with the specific intent of steering the thread in this direction. I answered your question honestly and candidly and you in turn decided to preach about the dangers and possible perile of attached plates (which is boring and nobody really cares).

You then proceed to double talk about "kidding" about the "just kidding" part in which you're kidding but not really kidding all the while boring everyone. This forum is not about traffic laws or relatives in law enforcement.

Single familys except for the yellow Victorian one that you see in the one pic with my car in it which has been converted to apartments which it too bad b/c it's really a beautiful home. Not to brag but all the homes in my neighborhood are really big old homes. My house was built in 1890 and is a Dutch Coonial which is cool if you like old homes.
