I am a new member so I thought I would share a few pics of the backyard Texaco that I built. Started it about two years ago and it has come a long way. I live in a sub division so I have neighbors all around me but most love to come over for backyard parties each summer. The upstairs is used for regular storage, but the downstairs is all done in Texaco as well as the outside.

The pumps from left to right are: Bennett, Wayne 605 "the muscle car pump", Tokheim 39 and a Wayne 100.

Welcome to the forum!
I paid my way through 4 years of college working summers, semester breaks and occasional weekends home working at a Texaco station.
Learned a little about cars and a lot about people.

Here are a few pics of my toy in front of my Texaco station... It's a 1976 Chevy Cosworth Vega. It now has a 1971 front clip and also rear bumper making it look like a 1971. It also is tubbed out with 33 X21.50 X 15 tires and a 468 big block Chevy with 8-71 Blower and two stage nitrous. All in all about 1400 HP and street driven!

Welcome from a former Texaco island jockey. You have quite the collection. Some of the content brings back memories. Is this a dedicated space for the collection and hanging out?

I've put gas in many of Vegas but nothing like yours.

The upstairs of the barn houses regular storage and the entire downstairs (20 X 12) is just for the Texaco collection, however I do park my golf cart in there as well. I have actually run out of room and have a lot of my collection boxed up.

Under the awning in the front I have a flat screen tv and tables and old metal chairs that I sandblast and have painted and pinstriped. Also have an old coke machine that I put out when we have parties and fill it up with drinks. There are two ceiling fans under the awning as well.

I plan on taking some more pics and getting them on here to show some of the collection.

Look forward to more pictures. Place looks bigger than 12x20.

Between Hugo (sunbimmer), myself and a couple others, I'm sure we could find some use of the boxed up items. :headscrat

Very well done! Congratulations!! My wife retired from Texaco (started with Skelly, then Getty, then Texaco, 28 years, same chair, different companies in the Tulsa office) so we are a Texaco family. :)

Nice Vega, too.

sinisterblue,
Seeing your Vega really brought back fond memories. I ran one in the compact stock class at our local roundy-round speedway.{Now long gone. R.I.P. Spanaway Speedway!} We had to run a GM 4 cyl. engine. The 2.5 iron dukes were too much money so we did crazy stuff to the "beer can" 2.3. .030 over flat top pistons, .060 shaved head, my racing partner "oopsed" and also took .060 of the block deck too! But we still had valve to piston clearance at max lift. 200hp in a 2100 lb. car is a hoot.!
Love the Texaco station theme and collection.

The latest piece I just finished to go in to the Texaco station... It is a Bowser Lube Cabinet that was made in 1918. I got it from a friend who sold his old home and it had been in the basement where it was used to store heating oil for the home. This was a home that had been in his family for decades and he said he knew it had been there for at least 40 years.

I drug it home and sandblasted the entire cabinet, took the pump assembly out and cleaned it all up and got it working then sent it off to the paint shop. The Texaco Fuel Chief Heating Oil stuff is impossible to find (the cabinet had no branding on it whatsoever) so I had my graphics guy in Iowa remake the original style scripting and logo. Came out very nice. I have seen several of this style cabinet around but this is the possibly the only one restored as Texaco Fuel Chief in the world....
