My blasting cabinet build

I finally got a start on my blasting cabinet. I modified a set of plans that I found online for a wood cabinet. I am using 1/8" aluminum. I broke out the upper half, and welded the hopper up out of individual plates. I'll get around to sides and a door.
I will add a vent and vac port, get the gloves hooked up, and add some lights. I have a couple of the caged, glass dome sealed explosion proof light fixtures. I'm gonna run EMT with sealed compression fittings for the electrical.
The window is a tempered RV window that was left over from a project at work. I have to drill and attach it through the face frame instead of using the clamp ring, because it's designed for a 2" thick wall, not 1/8" plate. I will use the holes for the clamp ring to attach a piece of plexi to be a sacrificial layer.
The upper half of the cabinet is 48" wide, 30" deep, and the back is 30" high. The window is 24"x24".

Very nice

Tip...use a window screen to deflect blast from the glass and it will last longer

Nice job so far!! Will the door open from the side or from the top? My buddy has one that opens from the top and it makes it easier to take items in and out of. Keep the pics coming:rocker:.

I want to open it from the top, but I need to very clever with the hinge and seal. I have no choice but to keep this outdoors, and it needs to be weather proof. I think have pretty well conceded to just going with a door on the side. I thought briefly about a clamshell type setup, but I won't have the space behind it to tip the whole top backwards.

I've heard of the window screen idea, but for now, I have it all set up for a plexiglas inner lining over the glass

Thanks guys,
