Yes the female connector goes on the hard piping & the male connector goes on the hose. All the commercial building I've ever seen were done this way. Also this means that the female end of the hose is on the far end of the hose from the piping so when you unhook what ever you have connected to the hose it self seals. Say unhooking a nail gun the other way around would leave an open hose.
Yes it does eliminate the need for shut off valves. Although shut off valves are not a bad idea.
Floor looks fantastic. What did you use on it? The clown who did my cement put a sealer on that I'm now told will have to be removed. I wanted something similar to what you have. Awesome.
The floor has two coats of the standard primer epoxy from Legacy Industrial and 1 coat of light gray hd322 urethane. I rented a diamond brush from Home Depot to prep the floor prior to the epoxy.
Thanks for the compliments.
Moved both trucks in today. Haven't moved the motor home in yet or much of anything else. Wife already has a Bday party planned for a two year old friend of ours in a couple weeks.
I like things clean and organized. My desk looks "like this" before I leave the office everyday. My goal is for my shop to look like a "hospital" all the time.
That things AWESOME!! It's okay to get it dirty, just clean it when you're done. It baffles me how some people think that your space has to be a disaster area to get something done. I watched my buddy at the shop waste more time looking for stuff then I would "waste" at the end of the day just putting things back.
On the other hand the good Lord made us all different or i life would get pretty boring!
Hi Sims, I started my 70x80 build...its time to pick your brain if that's ok?! Did you have trouble with installing water lines inside the walls? As far as freezing etc? I would like to keep mine clean looking like yours and install the water, and air lines behind the tin but was a bit nervous.
My water lines aren't in the walls. Main feed comes up thru floor and then go down the inside of the mechanical room wall to exterior hydrant. The others are in ceiling of mechanical room. The one for the motor home hook-up is under the shop floor and comes up thru the floor near the wall. I agree, having them inside an exterior wall would make me nervous. Thank you for noticing the "clean" look of how the build went. It was definitely a thought out goal from the beginning.
Here are a couple pics showing some of the plumbing. Any other questions, feel free to ask.
I absolutely love the epoxy look on the floor. I have heard a lot fore and against. My concrete guy recommended not to. But I believe you like yours right?
