Is the floor sloped at all towards the drains, or do you just squeegee the water when you are done?

Thanks gipraw. There is 2" of fall from side walls to the drains. I still use a squeegee. I am very glad I went with the epoxy coating. Dumped about a quart of used oil the other day. Wiped it all up and the floor looks as good as new. It wouldn't have been that way with regular concrete.

Anybody that has a 9 year old truck that is used to pump sewer and looks like yours do "ain't" just parking them at the end of the day. Something tells me your days have always been long and hard. Congratulations on your beautiful building & I hope your daughter does well in the karts . . .

How many gallons of LP did you kill last year? Will a 1000 gal get you through a winter now? (Well one that isn't record settingly cold)

Also how's the shop temp doing this summer in the heat? I imagine the white metal is helping reflect a lot of heat away.. plus the insulation. Mine will stay mostly around 73-75° when it's 85° outside.. i just turn the big fan on to move some air around. Doesn't help me that I love having the doors up though. . [emoji295]
The pre-buy can and usually saves $. Buying propane during heating season is usually higher. Last year it was $1.89 pre-buy compared to $4.00 during the winter "shortage". My summer temps are very similar to yours. If I'm in there working I will turn on the 30" fan and move some air.

There is only one thing I see wrong with your building. That is, the fact that it is in your back yard and not mine! Lol. Great build man. It turned out amazing!!! Congrats on it.

Any updates on the compressor? Eaton is building mine right now. They are local to me to I am going to pick it up. I got the 80 gal 2 stage 5hp.

Great to hear! How did you regulate your air lines? A single regulator or does each connection have its own regulator?

One comment I had was that 500 gal LPG tank wasn't going to cut it if your monthly useage was 350 gal. See now that you've upsized to 1000 gal, and curious if your considering adding back the 500 gal, or yet another 1000 gal so you can bulk buy in the summer when prices are lower??
Other curiousity questions:
1) Did you consider blown cellulose in the walls so you'd get even less air infiltration and greater R value??
2) Satisfied with insulation in ceiling or consider adding more to get to R60?
3) Any discussion of vapor barrier on interior before the steel went up to further make the building airtight??
4) Did you ever consider making whole building "Drive-Thru" so back of building would have door and connect to other driveway on property?? (This would making driving motor home, or vehicles pulling trailer easy to get through building.)

Nice shop. Just read all 18 pages. I agree with you on the epoxy. I have truck and forklift (daily) traffic in my shop, along with metal falling every now and then, and plenty of welding. I plan to redo the traffic areas every 2-4 years. It's holding up decent. Lots of distribution centers and warehouses use epoxy and just redo it as needed. It isn't very thick. Mine isn't delaminating... just some gouges and scrapes from the lifts running around.

I chose not to use the blown in insulation for the walls due to the chance of it settling over the years. The entire building is Tyvek wrapped prior to the exterior steel being installed. I thought about having rear doors and a drive but seeing how the doors with openers were nearly $8000 and the cost to take the drive over to my dads shop drive would have been a minimum of $5000 I opted to back my motorhome and trailer in from the road. I can usually do it without stopping once [emoji3]. Since building the building the motorhome went from a 31' to a 36' one also. I don't think I'll need anymore r value in the ceiling. There is on avg around 20" to 24" which in Ohio is probably ok.
