Hey everyone my names nick. So I have lived in a development long enough and finally we moved. The property we purchased has a detached garage and this is a thread I'm starting to record the changes and get input. This is that I started with not a bad start. First off was gut it then put in eletrical. I had my power company run a desperate service for it. After eletrical I did spray foam insulation then started working on the walls. Also move in the new compressor and new to me "workbench"

looking good, are you going to do the corrugated tin/plywood treatment on all the walls?

That's the plan as of right now. I wanted something that would do well against sparks plus I can pull the metal off and still do eletrical work if need be in the future

I want to do some trim to clean up around the doors/windows and where the metal meets the wood. However I'm debating painting the plywood. What do you guys think. Oh and here's some of the stuff I have built/refurbished

Well got my walls up and all my trim stained. All that is left is to whitewash the plywood upper half do the trim and I'll be moving my stuff in. I have a few things at my work I have to move in like my welders welding bench band saw and took box ect. When I moved it was easier to store at work during the move instead of storage. I made a rolling work bench that I'm going to convert to My welding bench. I have a 3 x 5 half in steel top for it. Here's a few welding practice shots while I wait for better garage update pics

Edit: oh and I gotta finish getting the mini split ac going cant wait for that

Odd question, but where do you get the seats for the tricycles?

so what size is it?

The building is roughly 16x25

Got some work done today after work haha started white washing the upper walls and got the trim stained. Not sure if I should do another coat of white wash. Not everyone likes it but I like the mix of light and dark wood

Made some progress today after work now you can kinda see what I have in mind. Went ahead and completed one wall so I can move the big bench there and take up less space

Here is my wife's honda and my bike. And the messy storage area(attached garage). Using it to stage shop stuff. The yellow bike was the day I got it. She was surprised at the differance

Nice air compressor man, those are quality.

I delt with a 20 gallon for so long and once I did more "side" welding work I got sick of it. I've used it with my air cut off wheel to do all the sheet metal on the walls. It was sweet running an air tool without the compressor running forever and constantly. It actually shut off while I was running a tool...made me smile lol it's the littl2 things in life

Well I feel like I got some real progress done today. 2 small walls and a big wall are completely done aside from touch up on the stain and paint. Compressor is off the pallet and I started plumbing it. Wood work bench is cleaned off. Oh and router is installed with the camera. There was conduit run from the house to the shop. When I pulled the old wire out of it I used the same conduit to run cat6 to the shop then put in a router. I figured since I had a separate service now why let it go to waste.

Go buy 3 hockey pucks, and put them under the feet of your compressor, half the noise will go away.

Uh....seriously haha that will literally be the only sporting good type thing I have ever bought.

And yes the dryer is for the air. I plumbed it so I can run on "straight" air or the dryer. Started the end aswell

Only bolt it down if needed (moves around on the floor). If you do, use rubber isolators top/bottom as to not stress the feet and crack the tank. Don't over torque.

Do you guys think I could put pucks/rubber under the feet and not bolt it down? Right now it doesnt walk. I'd rather not bolt it down just for convenience.

I can't figure out what the green & silver cone shaped thing is by your man door. Is it a heater?

What a cool shop. On the compressor feet. I bought the isolator pads at Lowes and then bolted mine to some 2 x 6's and then bolted one of those to the wall. Mine moved around quite a bit it liked to dance I guess. I really like your setup and the fan is neat.

What about drilling a recessed hole in the hockey pucks and then bolting them to the compressor feet? I would think it would absorb vibrations and help keep the compressor from moving.
