Got the poly down and rebar laid out and tied, should be getting the pour done this week.

A lot of work, didn't think id ever get it level. I was at the same point this time last year.

One thing I wish I had done is mark the wall or foundation top where the rebar is or at least measure and record it. I'm looking at putting in my lift and wondering if I will strike iron.

Document everything, it always seems like you'll remember at the time.

Got my buddy over with his compact tractor with backhoe and put in the trench tonight for the electrical. Should have cable in the ground Saturday.

Still waiting on concrete, the guy who was going to finish has buggered up his hip and is awaiting surgery. Only a few good concrete guys in town and they are busy....hopefully soon.

Got the cable in the ground and panel in the shop. 100amp service!

Had to make a wee bit of a mess in the house as someone thought it would be a good idea to put the main panel in our master bedroom. Some drywall mud is in my future...

No conduit, we use direct burial armored Teck90 cable here. It is 1 gauge aluminum 4 conductor.

Ok! Concrete truck shows up at 8:30 tomorrow morning! Got two huge 150,000btu propane heaters blasting out there right now keeping it above freezing. It is supposed to warm up quite a bit over night so here is hoping!

Propane heaters didn't cut it....didn't have big enough bottles to run them properly.

Ended up getting a big diesel fired forced air heater with ducting to run inside. That worked much better!

Concrete is in now and the weather has warmed up quite a bit again, so now the heater isn't needed.

Should have the first round of sealer on it tomorrow or the next day

Doors should show up next week and soffit and fascia should be started.

Indeed it does! Can't wait till it is to lock up and I can get some stuff in there out of the attached garage on the house for I can get my poor 67 mustang put away for the winter as it has been sitting outside for way too long!

Got it pretty much wired, and am just about done insulating. Got the OSB on the ceiling and got two of my 3 rows of t8 fixtures up.

Excuse the mess! I really need to make a trip to the dump.

My contractor is officially finished with his part of the build. The exterior is house wrapped and strapped for rainscreening and ready to me to install the Hardie on in the Spring. Got all the soffit and fascia up. Should have the attic insulation blown in after christmas.

Been working away at the inside. Got all the OSB up on the walls and got my compressor room framed up. Will be starting to prime tomorrow....have 10 gallons of Kilz on hand. Should be fun.

Looks great! Can't tell for sure, did you caulk all seams in OSB? Will be hanging mine soon and it seems like a good idea. Can't wait to see the paint!

Looks awesome. Makes me feel a little bit of anxiety about my build that is about to kick off. I got a lot of work to do this spring.

Almost done with the Kilz sealer. Got two 5 gallon pales and have used 1 and 1/3 buckets so far. Have about the last 1/2 of the ceiling to do and slather the corners and trim work well. Will be top coating with white latex. Probably just eggshell so it hides the OSB a bit better.

Can't wait to have the smell of Kilz outta my shop....ugh.

Got it painted now and have started moving in and setting it up. Got the middle row of lights up, nice and bright now! Got my compressor into its new home and have started building my work benches. Also picked up a rather beefy steel work bench. Its all 3/8" plate and came with a 6" Record vise on it....scored it for $100 off a buy and sell. It has to weigh over 500 lbs. Also got my liftmaster installed and set up on my door.

Excellent score on the bench especially with the vice. I guess your trusses held up to the snow... How much accumulation did you get on the roof?

None stayed on the roof....too much wind. 168 cm fell in a 24 hour period. The snow blower and tractor got a good work out!

Have the frame work of my benches built and a double layer of 5/8" ply on the top. Will be getting some sheet steel bent up tomorrow to top it all off. Ended up with 16 feet of bench. 40" tall and 28" deep. I will be building doors and perhaps a bank of drawers for it as well.

Also hung the old upper cabinets I save from when I redid our kitchen and hung my bolt bins I got for free from work.

Still trying to figure out where to put this steel cabinet I got as well.

Started on making some shaker style cabinet doors for the lowers on the work bench. Need to pick up some more material and some 1/4" ply for the panels on the doors.

I put 16 ft of 2x4 ledger along the wall then made a frame for the bench top out of a 2x6 front plate and 2x4 supports every 16" on center along the length of the 2x6. I set this on top of the ledger that was attached to the wall and they leveled the bench top front to back and cut my legs out of 2x4. I then framed in the bottom shelf to fit behind the legs and make a toe kick area. I notched 5/8 ply to fit on the lower shelf and around the legs. Then i added a doubled up 5/8 ply top to it all. I will be getting some steel bent up for the top and will be adding the doors i am making to it.

Got 16ft of 16 gauge steel bent up for the tops today and attached with counter sunk screws

I'm waiting for more screws to come in for my Kreg pocket hole jig to finish assembling all the doors for the lower part.

Would you paint them and the bench frame or stain them?

Prob paint. You didn't use anything fancy for the wood so paint.
