Just kidding guy's. I thought about using the glue on stuff but realized I didn't have anything to glue it onto. I did not want to run the sheetrock anywhere near the floor so any moisture coming from the floor would not be in contact with it. I don't get any moisture coming up that I can see. But I have read a lot of horror stories of the moisture weeping up into the wood and sheetrock. So I took Rockuf8's advice and used the PVC boards. I never really thought about using that before. I guess I never had to.
Stuff has wood grain and will never collect moisture.

Where's the PVC BB moulding? What are those grey panels?

Those are the PVC. They look much wider then they are, but I wanted something that was almost like a kick panel to protect the walls. I painted them to match the bottom half of the wall. Hard to see the grain in them in this color but I wanted them to kind of disappear. There will be a small piece of trim molding that goes on the top of them just to give it a little detail.

Oh, so they're basically a flat trim piece with a wood texture, gotcha kind of hard to see in the pic. Thought you were going with white trim since you had a lot of white on the walls.

I'm really loving this Craftsman tall cab.
It comes with little bungee cords for the door shelves. Cool feature.

TallCab1_zpsf3272ca4.jpg

Also comes with a bracket to attach it to the wall.

TallCab3_zps1cd0a63e.jpg

I also lined the shelves just for some extra protection.

I had to put the clock up too, just because it looks cool.

Awesome. but re: the bungee cords, if stuff is falling out of your cabinets then you could have other issues ha.

Those door shelves are perfect for cans of spray paint etc.... Very handy.

That's one of the main reasons I bought this cab. After having stripped and refinished just about every surface on my Camaro, I have a lot of spray cans and want them hidden away but accessible. You have no idea how many times I have rebought the same can just because it was at the very back of the shelf behind something else.
You can see my old spray can shelf in the back to the left, that's if you can even find it.

Considering you are going to use the bracket and attach said cabinet to the wall, if stuff is falling out of the cabinet it's due to a more serious event such as an earthquake, tornado..etc

I was trying to make a joke, but nobody got it. :(

Just kidding. I did get it.

Hey, we get earthquakes in Jersey now. Didn't you have one in your area a few years ago?

Here are some updated pictures.
I couldn't help myself, I had to take off the HF US General sticker and replace it with the same kind of Craftsman sticker that are on the other Craftsman cab & benches. More storage for all my fasteners for the Camaro.

I also picked up the refrig today and enjoyed my first cold beer.

New stainless steel workbench is great but the glare off of it from the sun from my new window was unbelieveable so up went the shade. Now I just have to take off the extra shades and touch up the molding.

Still A LOT more to do but getting closer everyday.

Thanks guys.

I got the other workbench finished today. Putting all those drawers & slides together takes a lot longer than I thought it would. Plus I put up my flashlight holder by the door. Small step forward, but still forward.

Keep up the fantastic work, that bench looks very nice, love the black, grey and stainless. Is there a way to raise the small fridge so it sits right up under the bench? Just thought it might look better lined up with the bottom of the toolbox.

Save one of those ice cold Corona's for me if we ever meet up and compare garages.

Thanks Rockuf8, I'm really happy with the way everything looks together. Once I get my full shop back up and running I want to build a short platform for it, to raise it up. I will definitely save one for you.

That flashlight holder is nice! Was it purchased, or did you make it?

Thanks, I got it from My Garage Store .com $16.

Great little garage fridge. Where did u grab that? Everything is really coordinating well

Thanks Dub, I found it on their website, www.nostalgiaelectrics.com and then ordered it from Wamart.com
It's actually a matte black, It looks great.

Thanks Crusher.

Picked up my new storage cab today. Sears has been holding it for me for about 3 weeks. Can't wait to start filling it up.
Hope to start the floor this weekend.

I'm looking for a tall cabinet to store my gas weed eater, edger and leaf blower in, if I use this one and remove the shelves do you think it's rigid enough? or would removing shelves lessen its structural integrity to much?

This is a great thread. I love seeing the transformation from this:

To this:

I look forward to the outcome. Well done so far.

Thanks, I still can't believe my garage was in that state.

The top shelf can't be removed, the bottom 2 can be. I think with the main support shelf in you would probably be ok. As long as you attached to the wall using the supplied bracket and maybe add a 2nd one. Go to you local Sears and check to see if they have one on display. That's where I first found it. The fixed shelf is about 55-1/4" from the inside bottom of the cab to the bottom of the shelf.

Been working alot lately, so not to much progress on the garage.
Got some time today to put together the HF rolling cab I bought awhile back.
Man, this thing is sturdy as hell, even comes with drawer liners.
Now I just have to put the handle I bought for it on the lid and get some kind of mat for the lid top so I can use it as another work surface.
More out of sight storage. I'm lovin it.

Started to set up the fabrication section of my garage.
All my fab tools will go in this workbench. Plus all the airtools, just to keep them close to the compressor and the ceiling mounted hose reel.

Started to empty the POD today. WOW!!! How much junk did I accumulate over the past 10 years. I have thrown away at least 1/4 of the stuff I had in there. How many paint trays do you need, definitely not 8. With all the chaos in the old garage I rebought a ton of stuff that I already had hidden somewhere. Not anymore.
Also started putting the new light fixtures up. The smaller one is the chain that came with the lights. I don't think so. Than there's the one I replaced it with. Much better.
The supplied one would probably work but it was just too whimpy looking.

Let there be LIGHT!!!!!!!
This will be a whole other world.
Pitch black outside and daylight inside.
And this is just 2 fixtures, I don't think I will need a 3rd in this area.

A lot of great transformations in this forum of course, but this one stands out in its own way. The difference beginning to end is stark. You gotta be happy with how it came/is coming out. Great job.

awesome, those are the $50 lights from home depot right? have been eyeing the same lights. which bulbs did you put in?

also, where did you get the chain, or what kind of chain did you get? is that available off the shelf at HD too, or did you save that from another set? the reviews of the lamps online said the chain was the weakest point so its cool to see your post and pics 1st hand.
