I've been waiting months for the first snow to see if the tray I bought for the snowblower would keep the mess from getting on my new floor.

$18 well spent. No more mess in my new garage.

I'm really getting used to this organization thing. I love the extra storage this Craftsman cabinet gives me. No more rumaging through all my spray cans on a shelf. I can see everything I have between the 2 doors at a single glance.

I really like those tall cabinets and I've been looking for something to store all my chems and paints. Just a pro tip, I personally store my oil and spray paint on different shelves to avoid any contamination while painting.

Thanks everybody,

I have vacuumed the floor more in the last several months then the last 10 years. Plus I find it much easier to keep the garage straight when everything can be put away behind closed doors.

Finally got a chance to take apart and paint the Rockler cord reel I bought.
Original color just didn't belong in my garage.

I'm going to hang the hose reel from the ceiling. So I figured I better drill a hole in the connecter rod that connects the mounting bracket to the body of the the hose reel.
Plus a nut and bolt to keep it from backing out.

Looking at where this project started, it's quite impressive to me that you are now repainting items to fit in with your color scheme. Things have come a long way. I hope the enhancements keep coming!

Thanks Rick it's been a blast.

I found this wrench set at hd and could not resist.
How often have you seen an adjustable wrench that will fit a 2" nut.
Plus, the jaw is reversable. BRILLIANT!!!!!

Awesome job Paul! I love the Craftsman theme you have there... how about some bird eye's view pics showing the final product?

Thanks mauris69, I'm still working on my garage so I don't think I could ever take a finished photo.

Fantastic build
Love the cradles!

Thanks RSOllie, got the cradle idea from my friends over on Pro-touring.com, they work great.

Thanks guy's, I have gotten sooooo many idea's from other members it would be impossible to list them all. So when someone else wants to use one of my idea's, or is motivated by my work, I say "go for it" and thanks for the compliment. It motivates me even more to upgrade my garage even further.

colbyc2012 - Using the cobalt blue should look great. Start a project thread.

I've been trying to find a spot for all my manuals and garage related books and magazines besides putting them on the work bench. Decided to go shopping for a wall cabinet to hide them away. Found the perfect one that matches my large cabinet. Just happened to be on sale too. Great day.

Starting to rebuild the doors on the Camaro.
The right tools alway's make things easier. Especially when the tool is about $6.

AWESOME make over! Looks so different than the original pictures!

Question on your lights. They are plugged into the outlets above. Do you manually have to turn each light on or can you simply flick a switch on the wall and have them all light up?

Thanks,
-Nigel

I thought I'd posted in this thread before? Oh well, very nice work, great transformation, and I love the Camaro.

Thanks.

Thanks Nigel, it's been a long journey but well worth it.
I have the ceiling outlets setup in 4 sections. I have 3 switches so I can turn on or off whichever section of the garage I need. Than I have the garage door opener and the cord reel on constant. At the beginning of my thread(page 2) I drew out the electrical plan and pretty much stuck to it.

Doesn't look like the same garage. Very well done. Are you more efficient now?

Thanks, I do spend ALOT less time looking for things and buying extra of things because I don't know I already have them. So, I end up spending more time on the project as opposed to setting up the project. Although I spend alot more time on cleaning the garage then I used to. Well, actually I never used to clean the garage. I think it all cancels out each other in the end. It is a great work enviorment though, plus I find I spend more time just hanging out in the garage.

Got completely snowed in today, so I spent a few minutes and put up my first piece of garage art. A very cool car, The Spectre Camaro. Now I just have to have the other picture made into a poster and it will sit next to this one.

I guess I missed this thread for some reason. Just went through the whole thing and it's an amazing transformation! Kudos.

Thanks Paul.

Finally got my compresser hooked back up. I didn't want to see all the piping so I hid it behind the tank. You can only see it from the side now. Plus I added an extended valve to make it easier to drain.

Thanks guy's, I just got tired of getting down on the floor and reaching under the tank to get to the drain.

Very nice touch with the extension. And as always the tank fits well with the motif.

I got lucky with the tank color. I bought it about 8 years ago.

Funny story about the compresser. I went to HD about 8 years ago to get a compresser. I saw this one and told the guy I would like to buy it. No problem, but this is the last one we have in the store, he told me. You can have this one. I told him no thanks because it had a big scratch down the front of it. I want a brand new one in the box. He said, ok, I will order you a new one and have it shipped to your house for free. Great I told him. About a week later this truck shows up at my house with what I think is a brand new compresser. It has the box and everything. He get's it off the truck we take the box off and surprise, surprise, it's the floor model with the big scratch in it. I tell him I'm not excepting it, take it back. He tells me he can't, that he now needs a pick-up order for it. Ok, so I go back to HD and explain they say "No problem, we will ship you a new one. Great! A week later they drop off the new one, perfect condition. But, the driver again does not have a pick-up order so he can't take back the old one. Long story short, 3 more trips to HD over the next 6 months to try and get them to come pick it up with no results. Finally the guy at the customer service desk tells me "Just sell the thing". Ok, I really tried to be an honest guy, but after 6 months I need the room. Sold it to a friend for $50 less than I paid for it. Thanks HD.
