On my AC I am using a 3/8" black rubber goodyear brand hose. The hose is about 2-3 years old now. Just this winter I have noticed it has become sticky. Almost like its been coated in heavy weight oil and been sitting out collecting dust. I typically give the hose a wipedown after a job if its been collecting **** on the ground but its usually only the last 10 or so feet that get dirty. When trying to clean off the hose it doesnt seem to come completely clean after wiping down with some citrus degreaser.
Is this possibly just small amounts of compressor oil seeping through ( dont usually have any noticeable oils coming out when draining the tank)? Or could this be a bad batch of rubber breaking down?
