Nice job Lee, they always fracture at that spot, my 30 was no different. I did not have the same issues with the rust as you have but fairly typical.

Quick question if i may there is a 31 model a coupe on ebay at Toowoomba at the moment. I have been looking at purchasing or importing one for a while now, Have you heard anything on the grape vine so to speak?

WOW, just gettin here. A big LIKE for your sheds and everything that is in them. Especially the Buick. and the Buick sign. uhh speaking of the Buick, didn't I read that the wife is wanting it done soon. How is that coming. Got any progress shots. Just curious, where in the states did it come from. I sent this 54 Roadmaster to guy named Rooster down there, ever see it around?

No need to do an inspection, the car is a little over priced for what it is. I was just curious as to whether you know of it?

The is another one on Gumtree in Perth at 18 k for that price, all things considered it is one of the best value for money coupes going.
If it were closer i would have hit the buy now button a week ago, shame

I had a look at the coupe in add #1035733336, nice, price is perhaps a little high if you do the math and compare what it would have been brought for then add your import and on costs but not quite what i am after.

Hi BUick Farmer, thanks for the kind words mate, as for the buick the more we pull it apart the more rust we find, it will be a slow build as i have a couple of other projects going as well. I will upload photos of it showing the extent of the rust soon. Cheers Lee

The last couple of weeks i have had to do alot of rust repairs for a guy, all model a and t stuff, i was going to take alot more pics but i was just wanting to finish them as it felt like it was never going to end, he is going todrop off aheap more for me to do in the near future so i will take more pics of them. I bought a bar bender the other day and a tube bender as well, so i made a couple of stands for them. The tube bender i set up so you can tilt it on it's side or flat so you can make things in weird shapes and not hit the floor.

The little V8 logo was made with 2 valves and a couple of washers, i also used a couple of valves to hold the little shelf, the headlight bucket is a model a and the piston and rod are out of an 8ba.

BTW, nice job on the lamps.

The bar and pipe benders are handy bits of gear, you will be amazed at just how much you use them. I am lucky to have access to them at work, however would not mind having a bar bender here in the shed and they are not that pricy.

)Those are pretty neat idea. You could even add some side view mirrors, so you can make sure your hair is in place:)

So this weekend i went to Toowoomba swapmeet, it has around 1800 stalls of car parts and collectables. This year didn't seem to have as many interesting things as compared to previous years but i still managed a couple of items for the shed, I am also heading down to Hawkesbury swapmeet in 2 weeks which is about a 1000km (600miles) from where i live
for a look.
I scored this double sided vb sign for a cheap $100 that was faded quite bad.

Then i scored a really nice early sidchrome cabinet.

I also scored a brass light that originally came from the RNA showgrounds in Brisbane, a little pricey but with a polish it would look a million dollars, but i am thinking of putting an old style bulb in it and leaving it rustic.

I have been chasing that model for about 8 years now and to have one turn up right under my nose was a bit of a shock. just gotta find where i buried that suitcase full of money:lol_hitti

Boy I'd sure like to do up a swap meet down under 4sure. I could come back home with a shipping container full of cool stuff.
You sure have a good eye for finding the gold:) amazing how nice that sign shined up, looks like a new sign.

You have been busy. That VB sign came up well for a clean.

You wouldn't believe what a bit of crc and a rag can do. Most people think the sign is throw away when it is faded, don't tell them the secret or it won't be cheap anymore.

If you ever decide to come over Herb let me know, you would be welcome to stay at my place and i will gladly help you spend your money:lol::lol:.
We have some great swapmeets over here butalot of them are just annually not like alot of the ones in America that do it on a monthly basis. I wish someone would do something like that over here as i think it would take off well.

It's an Aussie beer that was brewed in Castlemaine (in Victoria) before they were kicked out for it tasting terrible...

Don't know if I can recite the joke about how it got the name XXXX on this forum though!?

Hi GJ people, i recently went on a little road trip to Sydney for the annual Hawkesbury swap via a couple of places to pick up items i have purchased on ebay lately, after leaving my house at 2:30am we finally arrived at the swapmeet at 8:10pm to be greeted by rain, apart from the rain that place is perfect for a swapmeet as it is nice and flat and has sealed roads all around the place. The facilities where great as well, but the weather got the better of us on the Sunday and we didn't hang around long as we new we had another 1000km ahead of us and the rain was set in.
All up we did 2300 km (1450 miles) in 2 days.
here are some of the things we picked up.

Great find. What are you plans for the old geiger counter / radar?
Are you planning on fixing up the Firestone sign?
