Awesome job!
and Andy, I did enjoy a beer or two out of a decorative fridge of yours back in the yesteryears of VW nonsense![]()
OP, what is the tiger made out of? I think you did an awesome job of reporpoising it AND keeping the family memory alive.
Read through the whole thread. Love the content. Another vortex'r here with many mkiv TDI years under my belt. Had a buddy here in MN that built/ still drives a compound turbo TDI.
Thanks, always good to catch another vortex'r on here!
Interesting, who has the compound TDi? I've been out of the TDi game for a while, I do know of the guy that has the R32 shell with a PD100 in it that tracks the car....I know Matt Whitbread build that B3 passatt with the ALH compound...but didnt know of another.
Oh yeah, I know Jon, haven't heard that name in a long time! I used to chat with him rather frequently when I was building my car, definitely a small world!Jon Fettig, he was really active on tdiclub for a long time. He was a Malone tuner for a long time as well. He has a '98 ish Passat that came with the motor mounted longitudinal. He built that car into a compound. Also I think he helped tune that R32 tdi as well. Small world!

Yep, totally get that. Spending money on the shop fridge is not a major requirement when you're in the midst of building and maintaining a couple of cars, doing wood projects, rebuilding a bathroom...Thanks Tom, appreciate it!
The fridge needed some sort of a "fix up" so that seemed to be the most logical choice since I had the metal. Agree, an old fridge would have been sweet, but this fridge cools things and was free many years ago...too many other irons in the fire to worry about buying another fridge....

Untitled by fouckhest, on FlickrBeen following along and love the garage!!
I bet it feels good to see the progress without putting in all the grunt work. Drywall/mudding/taping is definitely not my cup of tea either.
What's your plans for the floors in here? Refinish, or are you going to lay something new over them?
That bathroom is turning out just awesome. I love the tile and the little nod to you in that wall niche. Very cool.
Bedroom starting to look like something with the drywall all mudded and taped!
After a several year absence on GJ, I got hooked again this week as I contemplate a new shop build. I just did a full 12 page read here this morning. Thank you for a great build thread and for taking away the better part of a Saturday morning, lol. I’m worn out. ESSO tiger and your overall creativity and clean work - I just love. Great inspiration.
Bathroom came great, I have system just like that. It's awesome on cold mornings.

Untitled by fouckhest, on FlickrJust my opinion but keep the original garage door!! Every garage I see that has a divided room with a garage door makes me want to figure out a way to add one in my garage. LOLThanks buddy! The vortex is like Keith Richards, you cant kill it!
Been chatting with some folks over there on general theme/schemes, etc....put this very crude rendering together, but got me excited to really start pushing to get it ready for a winter project!
