Had a few quotes from polebarn contractors. I decided to go with some Amish fellows. I seen some of their work, and new someone that used them. Super craftsmanship, They used much better material then the others companies were planning, and were very particular about their work. Started out by digging all holes by hand. Crazy.

6x6 posts and doubled up 2x12 header. The others were going to use 4x6 posts and two 2x10s for the header.

Yes, same guys did my concrete. It came out great. I had a trough drain put in the middle. A lot of nice touches, dropped the leantoo concrete down an inch. Tapered bottom a little where the rollup doors are going to touch the floor, to keep rain from running in.

The metal was attached with screws. All screws were screwed in by hand.:shocking: I wanted a skylight on one side of the barn to allow a little light. I hope it helps.

Wow, those Amish really know how to hand build a barn, huh ?? :D

So no power auger, no power air compressor and nailers, no cordless screw gun . . . etc. . . . . .
Yet, likely went up pretty quick and QUALITY is evident.

OP . . . using a computer you should be able to post 7 pics per post. Keep those pics coming. Pole barn is looking great !!

No power trowel. They did rent a slab saver to cut expansion cuts. Some guys use the egg beater drill drivers and the others use those long push drivers. The screws are so straight, you would bet the panels were predrilled. I wish my home was build this good.

Check this out. They even trimmed out the door jamb and brick molding. And they used a 2x12 treated skirt board. The other company was planning on using a 2x10. And no osb on the roof.
So glad I didn't go with them. I also won a $100 bet from my wife.;) She thought the Amish guys were not going to get this built.

Prices were about the same as other quotes. But I liked the idea of using better material, and having a wood roof. And the concrete was a GREAT deal. Supposed to knock down some cost, due to the fact I helped with transportation when I was there. They're about 20 miles from me.

I had no idea, until I asked him. But He is also trimming out the Leantoo posts. I figured them just to be left wood. Cool surprise. I figured I would throw a few can lights up before metal soffit goes up. That way I could get to wires easier. He was very helpful with some ideas, because construction is not my specialty.

Holy smokes what a beautiful build. Congrats on the new shed and I luv seeing true Amish craftsmen at work. Your building is nothing like the gazebo I bought from the Mexican Amish community located here is SoCal, imagine that. :lol_hitti

This is absolutely an amazing pole barn. I had a 30x40 cleary barn at one point in my life and I can assure you that the barn and the people who installed it were not half as thorough as those gentlemen. I wish I had access to Amish here in Colorado I always enjoy seeing the craftsmanship and work they produce.

Headed north and meet the crew for the last day of work. The rollup doors, lento ceiling, window, and some trim.
Thanks for the nice comments. I can't be more pleased with their work. NO COMPLAINTS. Here are some of the last photos. Maybe I can post more when I get around to finishing the bonus room, electric service, and anything else I can come up with. peace

close ups of some trim. He even trimmed the posts. He wrapped posts with a layer of plastic before trimming. Not sure why? Looks great tho.
